Quentyn from AnalogHype writes: "An interesting question was brought to my attention recently, and I felt the need to answer the question in the form of an editorial. The question was: "Will we ever see a change in multiplatform sales?" I like long answers, but I understand some people are much simpler than that. For them, I have the short answer: maybe. For everyone else, hit the jump for the rest."

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.
Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.
My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
Multiplats sell very well on PS3 and alot of company`s make more off the PS3 than the 360.
this article might actually have some merit.
I'm also sure that their multi-platform software sales are on par in Europe, where they are neck and neck with the 360. And without question Sony is a more popular brand than MS in Japan.
And again, back to exclusives, Ninja Blade and Alan Forever aside, where are the Microsoft original IPs this year? Oh, that's right, they're going to be announced. And does anyone actually think that Sony is DONE making game announcements for the year?
Oh, and let's not forget about the Wii, who is pissing on everyone's parade.
All three machines are here and doing well, respectively. Knee-jerk, armchair analysts need to stop.
@ below. It IS supposed to be about multiplat sales, before the author adds a typical rant about exclusives. And quote:
"That also can't be used as a point when people aren't even supporting the games. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resistance 2 should not have to struggle to reach a million sales, but they do on the Playstation 3. Sony fans just need to go out and buy games, that's all. We see A LOT of talking about them over the internet, but they don't seem to be playing them. Unless, of course, those talking about them DO own them, then that just re-solidifies the Playstation 3 as an early-adopter's Blu-Ray player. Go buy some damn video games, people."
Last I checked MGS4 was around 5 million and R2 was close to or over 2 million. Doesn't seem like a struggle in sales to me.
Just another website that's stuck under a rock.
Here's today's charts for sales in the UK, and take note that the PS3 sold more copies of Street Fighter AND the new Sega compilation, even if it didn't sell more it's still a whole wackload of sales.

Just give me all the ps3 exclusives and am good . I can't buy and play all them games anyways .
Or can it?
That is the question.
