Zuma Available Today on PSN

PSBlog: Hey folks, it's Greg again over at PopCap Games. You may recall that I made a post a few weeks ago announcing our multi-title publishing deal with Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) to bring our hit casual games to the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system via the PlayStation Network. We also announced our first title in the partnership, the puzzle classic Bejeweled 2, on PSN that day. Since then, the community has responded in a big way, and Bejeweled 2 is a hit! We've been blown away by how well-received the game has been on the PSN. All I can say is, thank you!

Plants vs. Zombies Was Almost Named “Lawn Of The Dead”

With today’s Friday Funday blog post of the day, PopCap Games listed some of their more popular games and the titles that they were almost given. It has been said before that Bejeweled was originally named “Diamond Mine”, but there are a few more examples worth mentioning.

In other news, Plants vs Zombies was almost sued to oblivion.

It's probably best they went with what they did.

That would have been funny.
Did you know that the original name for Pac-man was Puck-man? Not because he looks like a puck, but because paku-paku means to flap one's mouth open and closed. They changed it because they were afraid of people changing the name, like scratching out the middle part of the P.-the homeboy Scott Pilgrim

I would have called it super zombie ultra combo maximum edition, PLANeTary survival

Only one of those games even interest me.

Exactly, I mean all those facebook games and arcade shovelware? Who cares? People want to pay 10 bucks to play games that cost less on mobile devices and are free on facebook and tons of other gaming sites?
You gotta admit, console owners are so jaded and used to paying out the ass for way too much crap that they're willing to shell out 10-15 bucks for something you can get for a dollar, or free elsewhere, it really says something about how console owners are treated, and how they view games as being something worth spending more money than they're actually worth. I don't think any game has been worth 60 bucks for a very long time, it's why I always buy on ebay, kijiji, or borrow used.
Something interesting to think about.
