A year ago R-Type Dimensions would have sold for 800 points, and I'm just not seeing the requisite upgrade to warrant a perceived 50% price increase. Microsoft used to have it right, XBLA is an impulse buy outlet, and $10 is about my ceiling for impulse buys. If I'm going to pay $15 or $20 for a downloadable game it had better be as large and polished as Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty. No matter how polished it is, a port of a 20 year old game just isn't worth $15. R-Type is just as fun now as it was when I first played it though, and price can't change that."

aright, no real version then. switch is not an option for gamers and pc.. nah. it is no fun playing such ancient games on a pc. remastered or not. so i guess a big chance to cash in was lost here.
A lot of PC players play old games, I play them regularly. Actually, there are more remastered old games on PC than PS4 and XBox One combined. And they sell a lot more too. Heck, even those new "retro" games are released almost always first on PC and then MAYBE on PS4 and XBox 1. For example, Minecraft was released years later on consoles (graphically Minecraft is retro), after it was popular on PC.
Rtype still is amazing, a timeless classic. Have the originals and Rtype Leo on my arcade cab.

Yes. I used to play Super R-Type all the time. Mostly due to the music but it was also fun. Hopefully this game will have a similar vibe.
