Both games took place in the near future and placed players in the boots of one man armies standing up against corrupt, and not to mention oppressive corporations. The one aspect of gameplay that made these shooters stand out back in the day was the introduction of the Geo Mod technology that allowed players to blast through certain parts of the environment, negating the use of conventional doors and whatnot."
