Playing Resident Evil 5 (Demo) by yourself honestly does suck.
Every time I'm about to shoot an enemy, Sheva quickly steals my kill at lighting pace. She honestly does piss me off. What fun is a game if you can't kill the enemies yourself?

I honestly do wish it was just Chris by himself. It would have felt more tense then. We didn't need some annoying side-kick stealing his thunder (And almost all the kills).

There really is no reason to hate on RE5 so much. I think some people are just so used to generic FPSs, anything that's different must surely be BAD.

I don't like RE4 or 5,

My reasons being i loved the camera style on all the others before them, CCTV type if you know what i mean, And the going through the door movie scenes, Also you could interact with anything all be it alot of stuff just said 'nothing unusual'

Wheres as in the newer ones you can only interact with what it tells you to when the button comed up on the screen, And the stupid over shoulder camera view sucks for me.

If they didn't want people to complain about the outdated feeling survival horror controls, they shouldn't have turned it into a 3rd person shooter.

Firstly because the controls are hideous. This is a million miles away from what Resident Evil is all about. For me Resi was all about the scares, the tesnsion, the atmosphere. There just isn`t any of that which is a shame. They need to go back to the drawing board with the series.

i dont know but its not nearly as bad as the ps3 and people who have a prob with it are noobs at shooters im a big J.R.P.G fan and even i can play this game it isnt that complicated how do you do it put distance between you and them shoot then repeat

Seriously, If they just started a new IP with RE4 and made RE5 ZombieShooter2, or whatever 2. A lot of people would be much happier, including me. Because we might have gotten a REAL Resident Evil game by now.

That's what I've been telling my friends that everything got an upgrade in the game but your ability to fight back. Faster zombies that can tank more bullets then Dragonskin bullet proof vest. A machete that is more suited for cutting butter then zombies as it doesn't do any damage an a character that controls like an M1A1 Abram. These are issues an if the gamers who feel these are issues don't voice their opinion then why would we expect anything different if we never speak up.

Its not a matter of exclusivity some of you just have nothing else better to say so you wanna jump on the bandwagon an agree with the next man. Now the one thing that is different an between the two consoles that I like an is another reason I am a PS3 owner is because the playstation community speaks up an we tell sony what we want. While a major issue like the disc scratching,rrod an random graphics cards dying in 360's were being defending as its ok by there owners. My thing is what do you expect if you don't open your mouth an say this is inexcusable or we lover this an we need this.

the fact of babysitting your partner and that you have to make sure she stay alive and gets in the way at times is annoying and also the there is still tank-line movement presents brings the game down a bit and there is no shooting and walking backwards from enemies is inexcusable....that's some of the reason for the hate....its not a total crappy game by no means but those are some big annoyances..definitely not worth 60 bucks.
Another thing....the game has turned into more of an action shooter now after RE4 rather than a suspenseful horror game.

When that rumor came out confirming run and gun gameplay, the same people who complained about its absence started all of a sudden praising the old style and talking about how you've never really had that ability in any Resident Evil before so it would ruin the game, Just a feeble attempt to bash this game, I'm not saying this game is perfect, I played the demo and had some problems on my own, It is far from perfect, but it is in no way a bad game, It was a lot of fun especially in co-op and isn't that what should determine the verdict in the end? Not to get too deep into it, but the script could have been changed up a bit. I have played and loved all the Resident Evil games, but I have no plans of playing this one. I know people will bash me on here, but having insane looking Africans, acting like savages, was not very responsible. I'm sure a lot of people really think AIDS came from Africa and African-Americans came from Apes. Man, I know Capcom is not racist, but I which they would have mixed things up a bit.

The controls are like all previous Resident Evils, As Skizelli above says, the controls work making you feel more vulnerable, IMO they add to the suspense. You're surrounded by a ton of fast moving (but slow witted) zombies, confined in a small room (I hope everyone knows that the idea of the demo was not to stay in that room, you wouldn't believe the amount of people I've spoken to who think the entire demo takes place there! LOL) You don't have room to "breathe" and the demo at least, reflects that.

Also to those who think that there's nothing new and that the knife is useless, go check out some Youtube videos. The new Melee combat is used a lot, you set up the zombies by "staggering" them by hitting certain areas then let loose with a melee attack that can clear a path in many occasions. Work well with a partner and you'll be pulling off the more special combos.

The game doesn't deserve the hate it's getting, it's just misunderstood. If you want to play a survival horror game with controls like Dead Space, play Dead Space. If you want to play a new Resident Evil game expect it to control like a Resident Evil game.

Because people expected so much more.

The reason I don't like the game is that it's just not scary at all. It's a shooter. I'm fine with the controls, I beat RE4 3 times and it was cool. Re4 wasn't scary, but it was fine at the time because the gameplay was innovative at the time and it was the must have gamecube game at the time. RE5 however is even MORE of a shooter than before and is absolutely not scary at all. How can you make a survival horror game without making it scary? As a shooter it's mediocre and as a horror game it's terrible.

Here's my reasons.

1. RE5 is a graphical powerhouse and the final build looks amazing with smoother crisper more vivid appearance then KZ2.

Which is why on N4G it's hated by the moronic cult of the well you know them already.

2. People can't handle challenge so learning controls and strategy just isn't for some people.

when I played and finished the demo, I didn't complain about the controls. Then I hopped on to check how people felt about the demo online, and I started reading all this hate. Was I missing something cause I haven't died in the demo. It's like one of those things that you get from resident evil awkwardness control and no matter what you will get used to it after the "first" resident evil game. i know a lot of people that think they know a lot about resident evil but that's because I told them about it (hopefully, you are not one of them). Resident evil controls were always awkward and i still feel the same, so I find it normal for all this people to complain about it. Funny cause the more you complain about it, the more it feels like you are "complimenting" for its awkward controls as if they are meant to be that way. Resident evil 4 was not even new to me cause it still felt awkward to me just like RE 2 or 3 did to me (same feel). The game does not need to be defended cause it is what it is, so why bother defending for what it's already a fact. Capcom promised this and that but how reliable can they be if they are likely to have some mistranslation and that goes back to how awkward Capcom is with their games (cause it was produced in japan?). you know what a capcom game is by just watching the first cutscene (I bet many of you know what I mean and a good example is Shadow of Romes). for those who are getting it, don't let this hate bother you cause because they are merely opinions [some which are preliminaries (-___-)], so just go with your confidence and keep your thoughts to yourself.

I think RE5 is ONE of the best games ever made, gameplay wise and graphics. RE5 is using the engine from Lost Planet and Dead Rising but has been modified alot from the RE team. Gameplay follows RE4 with the new action type gameplay which i like alot and have no problem with the way they went with the RE series but i did like very much the old pre rendered survival horror gameplay. It was alot of fun having to save ammo and scavenge for ammo and health even sometimes you would half to run from zombies.now the new RE is more action and there is no more zombies its a parasite that gets into someone and they can be controlled like in RE4 there was a big cult that was in control of the parasite. RE is now about more action,faster shooting,close quarters combat,teammates,co-op,big crowds of enemies,bigger bosses ect.The new co op is the coolest new thing in RE i think. split screen is cool but they made it like halo so the screen is small if you know what i'm talking about its kind of weird should be full screen but there is also online co op so everything is good.They try to keep RE the same though still putting in dark scary places and monsters but also keeping the old controls that many fans like so much. the new controls have the strafe which is cool but i choose the old RE4 controls because they are more like RE1,2,3,4 more stiff as in you cant strafe and can only run forward and backwards and turn so if you half to turn fast you are going to half to use the quick turn that has been in RE since REzero. Capcom is NOT racist. There is many other games that have african people in them too so how are those games not being racist? also how is it being racist when they use africans for one time in RE just because the area in the game is africa. what? would they use chines people lol i dont think so would not make sence.like if they for say set RE5 in japan they would make them japanese because thats the race of people that live there. overall RE5 is going to be a good game so just give it a try when the full game comes out and i bet you will change your mind.

playing the demo for Dead Space and thinking wow this is what resident evil and silent hill should feel like now. It has some real scare, what is going to happen next moments. Played the demo for Resident evil 5 and thought, this is no longer survival horror, just run and gun but someone left out the run part.

Yeah we know you could never move and shoot in the others. now it just feels dated, staid(if that's the right word), and hampers the action. After all most stuff on screen can move and attack you faster than ever. Meanwhile your left moving around like a chess piece.

They say that people are complaining now after 10 years? The series made a major change 4 years ago. One that was sorely needed. Now, 4 years on, games have evolved even more.

i think its because it is`nt what a lot of people wanted it to be,
old school RE fans want the scares and creepy gameplay from the first three, a lot of gamers who are new to the series want run/walk and gun and others who want the intence single player experience are going to be left out due to the A.I. coming up short.In RE4 i learnt to use ammo and herbs only when i needed to,keeping a lot for boss fights.After playing the demo i wondered how the hell was i going to do that with the A.I. wasting ammo and dying if i did`nt give her more.Cheak out the original E2007 trailer, no sign of Sheva.From 3 websites i`ve read that the single player is going to tear their hair out in the caves because one of you has to hold the lantern, cheak out the captivate 08 trailer Chris holds the lantern with one hand free(for a weapon?).This makes me feel that co-op has been tacked on the single player game rather than being an extention of it.Give me a good single player mode and a good online or offline co-op mode but dont ruin one for the sake of the other
