Destructoid Interview: High Voltage Software

At New York Comic Con, heads were turning at Sega's booth space. Illinois-based developer High Voltage had brought along their upcoming Wii-exclusive first-person shooter, The Conduit.

Designed from the ground up to take advantage of the Wii hardware, The Conduit could be what "core gamers" have been waiting for. And according to High Voltage's Chief Creative Officer, Eric Nofsinger, they hope to pick up some new gamers along the way.

Destructoid caught up with Nofsinger and High Voltage founder Kerry Gonofsky to talk about designing an original first-person shooter for the Wii, using (or not using) Wii MotionPlus, and more.

I'm wanting this game to be released so much that I really am enjoying this interview per day thing. Ha ha.

Well, 4 more months to get as many people as possible as excited about this game as I am.

I still have the "Spoil the first level from IGN" in my favorites browser. Love it that much.

OK, there are going to be 18 weapons in the game, here are some suggestions since I can't e-mail High Voltage Software with Outlook!

M32 Grenade Launcher-Human
Gun that shoots electricity haze-Trust
Gun that spreads very small spark like explosives-Drudge
Sniper Rifle-Human
Flamethrower-Human
Gatling-Gun-Trust

There’s a consensus about Splatoon 1 that cannot be disputed: motion controls are the way to play. The Wii U Gamepad had its many problems on the system as a whole, but along with the way in which the touch screen was implemented in the first game like I mentioned in my last piece, using the Gamepad’s gyroscope was deemed a superior way to play compared to traditional joystick control.
