The only other PS3 game I can think of that actually came out in Europe before the U.S. is GT5 Prologue.... it definantly took a while to get used to a game coming out in Europe before the States.

Anyways, you guys in Europe also get the Killzone 2 Steel Case Edition, but us guys in the U.S. don't, and that just SUCKS. I plan on Importing the KZ2 Steel Case Edition anyways because I just must own it... and yes, that means I'm buying 2 copies of KZ2, one U.S. version and the Steel Case European version.

I doubt if ANY company would particularly go out of their way to "screw" or "neglect" any market.

The reality is that in order to meet various EU zone requirements, the company releasing their product has to go through:
* Localization (EU has Spanish, German, English (UK), French, Italian, Portuguese at a minimum!)
* Regional software-certification processes (much like ESRB and CERO in the US and Japan).

At our company, in order to release our client to EU market, we have to add about two months to the release date just for localizations.
Since we're a US company, this means that we release to our US customers first and other markets feel that they're being ignored/behind. It's simply not the case.

Now, we're not a gaming company, but I'm sure those companies have an additional burden on them.

Just look at Killzone2.. since its a EU company, they have a TON of languages right off the bat whereas if this was a US developer, they'd think about localization AFTER they're done with the core game and then rollout to the rest of the world.
Its just reality. Of course, you'd think that companies would be smart and begin the localization process in parallel.. but I'm sure they're lazy.. or just rush to market to get a return on their money. They know they already have another market.

Ditto with Japanese-games taking "forever" to come to the US (WKC for example) and EU-first releases (which are "delayed" for the rest of the world.)

I'm sure there are other issues, but I've simply highlighted those that we encounter in our own small software company.

Being from Canada it's really annoying that we don't yet have Network cards or the video store yet, but EU has been getting the short end of the stick and am glad our brothers across the pond get thrown a bone for once.

every game should be region free so we europeans can import games from other countries. I'm tired of waiting several months because they need to translate to french, german, spanish etc. I'm anyways not a huge fan of european dubbing and will stick to english all the way...except for j rpgs with japaneese audio and english subbs. Still waiting for tales of vesperia european release date to be announced

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

PS3 ended up been a beast of a console, slow out of the gate, picked up steam, smashed through the finish line. The 1st PS3 slim is still one of my favourite consoles. So solid, great games, by the time GTA5 and the last of us had come out it was a clear winner for me

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.
