Once you settle into a look you like, the game proves just as punishing as ever. As Bydo Empire aliens attack from all around in claustrophobic corridors, you'll need the Force - a sphere that fires extra attacks and can ram enemies - almost as much as you'll need a co-op copilot (couch or Live, your choice). You might fail to see what all the fuss is about if you're not a shmup historian, but for the faithful it's a pleasure to rediscover R-Type with friends and flash.
Pros:
* The gimmicky video options are fun.
* Actually playable with infinite continues.
Cons:
* Niche genre appeal, despite sexy upgrades
Questionable:
* R-Type's Stage 4 sectional boss: Are you kidding?
The September-announced R-Type Dimensions EX will launch for Switch via the Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam on November 28, developer Tozai Games announced. Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page: About The coin-op classics, R-Type and R-Type II, are together on Steam!
aright, no real version then. switch is not an option for gamers and pc.. nah. it is no fun playing such ancient games on a pc. remastered or not. so i guess a big chance to cash in was lost here.
Rtype still is amazing, a timeless classic. Have the originals and Rtype Leo on my arcade cab.
Tozai Games today announced that R-Type Dimensions will be launching worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PC in late 2018.
Yes. I used to play Super R-Type all the time. Mostly due to the music but it was also fun. Hopefully this game will have a similar vibe.

Mario writes "R-Type is a fantastic shoot ‘em up arcade game created by Irem and was originally released in the year 1987. Several ports were made, including home consoles such as the TurboGrafx 16 and unlicensed carts for the Famicom.
Most recently the classic got a massive overhaul thanks to Tozai Games and returned as R-Type Dimensions, first released for the Xbox Live Arcade back in 2009 and now it’s time for the PlayStation Network users to enjoy this fantastic game!"
