
A screenshot posted on the Xtreme Systems forum states that Intel is working on the Core i7 965 Extreme successors already. The screenshot indicates that a new Nehalem processor 45nm process Core i7 975 Extreme Edition is in the works.
A user named Fugger, posted a screenshot of the CPU Z that showed the Core i7 running at a clock speed of 5.26GHz. It was overclocked on a rig carrying Gigabyte EX58-Extreme motherboard, Gigabyte HD 4870 X2 Quadfire graphics card and Corsair 1866C8 memory with Pelt cooling.
