Translation - While we ignored Gears of War 2's massive online problems at launch, this is a PS3 game, which means we need to crucify the online like Socom and bash it for a lack of innovation (unlike RE4 HD Remix aka RE5). ;-)

Joking aside and in all seriousness, I would like more reviewers to spend time on actual production servers for online components and tell it like it is, glitches and lag and all. If the game is patched, that should be considered in a later review update (like how many of Gears 2's issues were fixed, which is great).

Gamespot first wants to checkout the reactions to all other (rushed) reviews, so they know what kind of score to give to Kz2 without risking to lose credibility.

The reasons being: After all the good scores come in, they are going to give it an 8.9 so all the idiots on N4G can give them tons of traffic.

You're making seem as if Gears of War innovated anything new. It shows the lack of gaming experience you have when you sit there and compare Killzone 2 to something like Gears of War.

The cover system was done way before Gears of War. Let's get that out of the way first. How did KZ2 take from it when it's a first-person-shooter and the first in the FPS genre to implement such a system? Two different games with two different styles. You fail.

Lack of weapons? In a fictional game that's trying to implement the feeling of war, the developer is bound to try their hardest to give it a "natural" feel. You think, such as in Quake or Doom, that a person in war is able to carry, let's say, nine different kinds of weapons? Most which become remotely useless? Guerilla games did the smart things by keeping weapons realistically minimal to balance out their usage. To give a game like KZ2 weapons like mini-nukes, shields, etc. would be defying its unique perspective on war. And by the way, again, F.E.A.R. was *not* the first game to use the cover system it uses. PC FPS games have been using it for decades. You fail, again.

Helghast and Combine comparison? lol. Pretty funny you mention that being that the first Killzone was released before Half-Life 2. Wow. Bother doing some research? Is it coincidence? I bet it is. Both games were released in the same month which gives a clear indication that Killzone didn't bite off of HL2. Again, you're an idiot and you fail... miserably.

I laugh every time I see a video with Kevin Vanhorn in it. All I think of when I see him is the time that Ryan Davis said he wants to be the crap out of him. I would love to see Ryan knock his teeth down his throat. I would also like to see that gay dude get into a fight. I bet he would swing punches like a little girl. I really feel sorry for chris. I think Gamespot are taking the right approach with this review and I feel like they are going to give us an honest review.

Of course, it depends on who reviews the game, but in general I think that they will be fair.

Aside from a couple off the wall comments from that Andre guy, they seem like they really like it and want to give it the time that it deserves before writing their review.

Makes perfect sense, makes me wonder how any of the reviews have been able to "Review" the multiplayer aspect. Which is lets face 50% of a game nower days.

I've never really read gamespot, but they have just gone up in my opinion.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.
