Oh and, I've seen a few people commenting that Team Ico 'said they'd be revealing their new game February', I'd like to inform those people that THEY DIDN'T. What's happening Feb 10th is a FAN-BASED event (basically the first print edition of the Team Ico FANZINE).

Lastly, I can well believe it'll turn out to be MFG (Massive Fail Game). Why? Because the man said it wasn't going to 'blow our minds'. And we all know we can't expect blandtastic shooters to blow our minds.

i doubt it would be kz2 co-op. the devs have stressed how hard it would be to implement and all the reviews nock it for not having co-op including gt i believe?. Guessing it will just be some more news on a title we already know about e.g. more info on GOW3, Heavy Rain etc or perhaps info about a possible game going back into production e.g. 8 days or the getaway

I guess it says "new information" on an exclusive so it probably won't be an unknown game at this point.

You get a lot of back and forth on these forums, scratch that, ALL forums/threads. Which system is better, which has the better graphics and which has the better game library. Most people can't really judge for themselves as most people don't have more than one console so we rely on the back and forth and the comparison videos. As a Sony fan for sometime now, and as a Microsoft hater for even longer (long story), I recently came across a great deal on an XBox that the cheapskate in me couldn't pass up and had to ignore the hater in me.

I have to say that the 360's experience is simply amazing. Granted, not being able to copy any data to the 360's HD is annoying and stupid and the lack of a built in web browser leaves something to be desired, but over all the experience is very nice and I bought it to play games anyway, right ?

With the RE5 download, it was my first real opportunity to gauge, for myself, which system had the better graphics. I have the same equipment, same cables, same everything, so there were no questions about contrast, colour, etc. I did it all. I was surprised. The difference was so noticeable, that my 50+ year old mother, who happened to be around at the time, could see it (and her sight stinks, sorry mom :P).

Long story short, the 360 has the better graphics. I believe that it's partly due to the fact that the PS3 version has a max resolution of 720p but the 360 displays at 1080p. As a PS3 owner, this enrages me beyond anger. Basically, Sony scammed me. They kept swinging the "High Def" banner around and claimed that they were the only system producing 1080p when in fact, more games display at 1080 on the 360 than the PS3, regardless of whether it's the native resolution or not. I'm not talking a little lighting differences. I'm talking lighting differences, texture differences, and general overall clarity on the 360 version compared to some "blurry" video from the PS3.

I'll never expect anything great from Sony this generation and I'll always wonder how much better the "exclusive" PS3 games would look on the 360. I would wager money that FFXIII will look better on the 360 than the PS3. Sony is more full of crap than a manure farm. Sony needs to cut their losses and dump the PS3.

Whatever this exclusive announcement is, I expect that they'll (Sony) will have it hyped much bigger than it deserves.

I didn't play RE5 on a xbox360 , and i actually don't care if the game is better looking on the 360 becuase first it's a multi so they design it defirrent and 2 nd i was really dissapointed in that demo, the whole RE feeling is gone , it's now more like a shooter , the controls are slow , Sheeva is always in the way , nothing special , If i had to choose between Killzone 2 or RE5 , i would not think a sec, Killzone 2 right away..

Anyway maybe they will announce MGS5 or FFXlll VERSUS IN 2009?

FALLOUT 3 DLC: The game isn't exclusive, but DLC for it CAN be, and after the fallout (no pun intended) that was the stuff that Todd Howard said about the 360's DLC, I can see them trying to redeem themselves with PS3 owners somehow (though I doubt that).

R&C: Dunno. I was never too attracted to the series (as in, never motivated enough to try out any of the R&C games). But if it was, I might give one of them a go.

TWISTED METAL: Again, I never really had a reason to try a TM game yet. So it wouldn't be as big of a deal to me as it would for someone else.

BBC GAME: It would be about damn TIME someone said anything new about that. We haven't heard a damn THING about that game since the BBC guy said anything about it. It's kind of ridiculous that the only info we have about this game even EXISTING is that the BBC guy saw it and was wowed by it. I doubt we'll find out anything new about it today, but I think it's high time for SOMEONE to say something new about that.

RELEASE DATES: Oh, we need them for some of these. WKC is near, I would suspect. Uncharted 2, GT5 ,and GoW3 all have arbitrary release windows, but nothing definite yet. I want to hear the WKC release date

No, I haven't tried and it could very well be a possible solution. There's always the issue that if I uncheck 720p, some games won't upscale, then I have the hassle of going in to readjust it for every second game... nah, I don't want to play that game, and I shouldn't really have to... the PS3 should just upscale everything, it's uber-powerful, right ?

I never said that there weren't any games @ 1080 on the PS3, but talking about multiplatform games, most games display 720 max on the PS3 but the 360 version displays at 1080p. When I bought the 360, I went into the local gaming store and browsed some of the games that I already have for the PS3 and to my surprise almost all of them were 1080p if not 1080i. It just boggles my mind that more of Sony games, exclusive or not, don't run in 1080 when they have beaten that message to a pulp.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
