a bomb? As of right now several 90s along with some 94s and a 97 will leave it probably in the same place. 8.7, 8, and B+ which is like 83 or something weird will probably just bring down to Gears 2 making it just below Halo 3. It's really not that big of a deal. All you're looking at is a score.

I dont understand, COD 1,UO,2,3,4,W@W are all pretty much the same, ok they've added bits and bobs but with over 6 releases of the game its stayed pretty much the same.

Gears of war 2 is pretty much the same as Gears 1, seriously theres minimal change between the 2.

They compare this game to the other FPS's, then mark Killzone 2 because its not original, it dons't make any sense. Its their fist game in years give them a chance. Think about it its their first next gen title. Tryarch did feck all with COD4 and got pretty decent scores! TVG game it 9/10!!!! If thats not double standards I dont know what is, all they did is re-skin the textures FFS.

I also find it odd that the majority of the sub-9 reviews are American-based sites. I also find it odd that these same sites are the ones that usually preface their review with some dig towards PS3 sales or the need for a system seller.

Go ahead, look at these reviews compared to the European ones--which tend to actually focus on the what the game does instead of what it should be. It's amazing how fundamentally different they are.

No matter how bad they want to give this game bad reviews they can't. They can only fabricate crap and use it as excuses, no co-op, doesn't innovate, etc... IF (I said IF) they scored KZ2 by the same criteria that they scored, COD 4, COD5, Halo 3, and Gears 2 they would have had to given it a 10+. Sadly, because this is a PS3 exclusive it automagically gets .5 deducted for it and then some more for the above BS excuses. It is just amazing how much people are willing to make themselves look stupid in public to uphold their fanboyism. Did I like Halo 3, COD 4/5 and Gears 2? YES Out of all of them I would have scored Halo 3 and COD 4 at 9.1 - 9.3 respectively. KZ2 though redefines FPS with a cover system, EXCELLENT multiplayer, excellent single player and arguably the best engine/graphics to have ever been seen on a console. Would have rated this game at a 9.5 to 9.7 overall.

I didn't even bother finishing the review after that folly, i am sure he makes good points but he failed me. also i noticed they have the amount of players wrong for the game (16) when it is 32 with online, i know its a small thing but i think it shows the quality of the site when they screw up something that obvious.

not because of the 8/10 score, that's well within the writer's rights to score it any way he/she seems, but my problem with this review is that he goes into it with the expectation that this game is going to "justify" or "save" or "validate" the Playstation 3.

once again, it's like 2007 all over again, and suddenly EVERY title released on the PS3 has to be so fantastically above everything else out there that it can't possibly be viewed fairly.

you didn't see reviews of games like Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, prefaced with "does this game justify the Xbox 360?"

reviewers these days simply don't grade 360 games on that "this must be the greatest game EVAR!!!" curve.

Killzone 2 doesn't HAVE to justify or save the PS3. it just has to be a GOOD GAME, and it (along with EVERY GAME on EVERY CONSOLE) should be judged by how good it is as a game, not how good it is at realizing a companies bottom line.

as a gamer, MY BOTTOM LINE, is that i want an entertaining gaming experience. if it delivers on that, then i could care less if it justifies, saves, redeems, WHATEVER, the game consoles i own, whether 360 or PS3.

as far as i've seen, i like both consoles for what they do, and i'm not trying to constantly have their WORTH proven to me with every big title.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.
