Fix is don't waste your money in the first place...People buy these machines knowing it's faults and that's where the term xbot truely comes from. I'd be embrassed to buy these( because they melt so frequently) knowing the problems and how outdated it is.

I don't know too much about consoles, but if you are already having overheating problems with a larger size consoles would't packing them closer together only increase their problem?

I have arcade with jasper chip and HDMI. Brought 60 gig hard drive at $55 from ebay, so that I could install games on hard drive 'coz the disc noise is loud. Unless somebody gives me gift for live, I am not paying for live. Overall, I am still happy 'coz I get to play all the great games and my 360 runs very cool. In fact, I don't even feel any heat when I touch after 3-4 hrs playing.

umm why isn't anyone bringing this up? where would the HDD plug in. >.> your memory cards, HDMI port, and wouldn't they also have to make a smaller AVI cable in the back. >.> they would have to make parts that are just for the slim and parts just for the old models, now if they only made it a HDMI system then i could understand, but that wouldn't sell to everyone.

it amazes me that some people here are surprised and even feel attacked when the RROD issue is mention. Are we supposed to just put up with faulty hardware because MS says so? and this slim rumors are garbage. MS did not fixed the 360 after 3 years. the slim version will never happen and if it happens they would have to revise the hardware, yeah right.
games aside, the 360 must rank among the worst pieces of hardware ever made and sold to the public.

All successful consoles eventually last long enough for technology to shrink in size. We will see a slim 360 in the next 2 years.

I don't think it would be a good idea to even try it. They need to focus on what they have out now to make sure that it works the way it should. I am not flaming at all I have a 360 and wish I would have never had to ship it back 3 times. It funny about how both sides of the fanboys meet together in these types of articles. We should just let them fight it out and see who has bubbles left when the dust clears.

I agree with the people that say DLC is a waste of money and resources. Put that into your next game. I understand new maps and such but there is no point in making DLC for GTA4 when you just could have added that to GTA5. The DLC for Fallout 3 is just a crock of crap.

I would really like a slim version as the xbox 360 should be named the fun box as i have really had some of the best fun and gaming i have ever had brilliant.

Although, the RROD was and is one of the most infamous hardware problem it has been rectified with a warranty and new improve models. What the PS3 brought us? Take out backwards comparability, connectors, crappy blue gay, Yellow lights, a dust magnet, BBQ Grill, lack of gaming experience, outrageous price tag, and fantards that dont know how to wipe their own rears. Almost all PS3 owners cant stand to see anybody elses machine been superior, because they know the fun its elsewhere. Poor soul looking for salvation, but they will see none because the PS3 Sucks.

If a price cut accompanies this move. If this is reliable, I'll buy a spare for the bedroom. Honestly though, I only forsee the arcade version achieving the slim status.

Now, if MS put work into it, a 60GB w/a generic 2.5 in laptop HDD in it would really give the Wii a run for its money.

From your large list i only know 2 (4) the Halo games , how low can you go , the Halo series becomes like the SAW movies first one was great and got worser every part , Is MS releasing 3 Halo games ... and the 2 nd is Alan Wake , what do we know about that game.. there isn't been any ingame footage..

BLOODY HELL Microsoft have spent how long trying to fix the fatboy and still hav'nt got it right.

Well at least a slim model would be smaller and lighter so wont cost as much to post back for repairs when it craps itself.

A slim would mean a serious overhaul on the hardware layout, and if it means better parts, better placement and COOLER, overall performance..

I would get one, but ONLY if it comes with a HDD, larger than 60gigs and is 199.99 or under.

It depends on how long this generation is going to last.

The last Xbox died about four years after launch. This year is going to be the 360's fourth year.

And with DVD 9 being severely out dated (come on! Rage-2 disks and still dubbed down, Lost Odyssey-4 disks, Star Ocean-3 disks, Blue Dragon-3 disks) I would say another 2 years max before Microsoft forgets the 360 and moves in to a new system.

But I guess it depends on how long this recession is going to last, because right now people don't seem thrilled to be buying a new system.
