Creative Assembly Tease Alien Isolation 2 Setting

A little something for Alien Day.

Storm234h ago

I was really enjoying the first Alien Isolation, but it gave me the absolute worse motion sickness. Can't wait to play this as I am sure I will do better with it if it's 60fps and has some motion sickness settings.

DF Direct Weekly #184: Red Dead PC. Nintendo Mystery Tests, Alien Isolation 2, John vs PS5 Pro.

In a rather jovial DF Direct, John returns from Japan having played PS5 Pro and visited a big bunch of developers, there's curiosity around Nintendo Alarmo and mysterious online tests it has in the offing, there's much anticipation for Alien Isolation 2 and some degree of confusion surrounding Intel's Arrow Lake-S CPU line-up.

Nothing but praise for the PS5 Pro.

Better than 4k looking textures, much less artifacts and shaper looking image quality from PSSR and full ray tracing at 60 fps and this is just the start. We're only looking at games that have been patched, just wait until games made around this tech hit.

Interesting they think developers should stop using FSR 3 and only use PSSR going forward.

PS5 Pro is the real deal, I can't wait to get mine.

Hogwarts Legacy confirmed 30 FPS with raytracing on the Pro.

What We Want to See In An Alien: Isolation Sequel

Skewed and Reviewed have posted an Opinion Piece looking at what they would love to see included in the recently announced Alien Isolation sequel.

TheColbertinator565d ago

Musical segments like in Kingdom Hearts 2

Garethvk564d ago

I think the new Joker filmed ended those escapades.

Sonic1881564d ago

Who's the protagonist in the sequel? Will it be Amanda Ripley again?

Garethvk564d ago

I think she will have to be a part of it but I could see them letting players be other characters from time to time.

Dfooster564d ago

I wouldn't be against throwing a bit of aliens fire power in there this time. I certainly would keep the bulk of the game as survival horror but gun turret placement and a section with marine firepower would break up the gameplay nicely.

Garethvk564d ago

Good point. The first time I played it was at E3 and in the Survival mode I had a flamethrower and figured I was fine. It charged me and I let fly and it ran off. I figured it learned a lesson and it just waited for me to emerge and got me when I no more fuel.

Now if we can get an official F.E.A.R. sequel from Monolith as well

ChiefofLoliPolice565d ago

Agreed! I just fired up Fear Platinum Edition from GOG and been remembering how fun that game was. Playing through the whole franchise again!

IGN 5.9/10 review badly damaged the game sales 10 years ago. Everyone trusted IGN back then. I'm so happy Sega greenlighted the sequel. Have a look at R. McCaffrey (the guy who reviewed the game) immature comment on the announcement.

Damn, I mean everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the sourpuss that gave that rating must be f-ing delusional.

I like this game but i don't play it because I don't like hide and seek games , I need to defend my self

The way you deal with Nemesis in original RE3 was good you can defend your self and continue your way and he come back again... etc

Red3f1ned565d ago

It's hide and seek at first. You eventually get options, like a flamethrower, to send the alien packing.

I feel where you're coming from though.

I hate that people play games based on reviews... like play what you want. One person's opinion shouldn't be a deal breaker. I'm glad the game has gotten the recognition it deserves over the years

Chard565d ago

Word of mouth is the better indicator - regardless of what number is at the end of a professional review, a consensus inevitably emerges about whether a game is worthwhile. Consensus has yet to lead me astray, including when it convinced me to try Alien Isolation several years ago. I'd stopped paying attention to IGN long before their Isolation review.

MetroidFREAK21565d ago

IGN for this example hasn't been relevant for me in many, many years... word of mouth >
