I think Killzone 2 will sell great, probably will be the biggest selling exclusive come end of the year. Will it push loads of PS3's? Think it will do as well as MGS4, slightly better, but not on a massive scale.

A price drop would do this, but i don't really care since i already have a PS3 and Killzone 2 pre ordered.

i think its better to wait untill the game comes out and see if it does.
im assuming it will becouse not alot of people bought their ps3's back then just (or in general) for killzone 2.

i mean killzone 2 was in limbo sort of speak and no one even payed attention really (i however did as im a huge kz fan)-

FPS generally iprove system sales too so thats a plus,and kz2 is surrounded by INTENSE and HUGE amount of hype (worthy hype that is) so thats another plus.

Also they seem to forgetting, how many ppl bought a PS3 already to play Killzone 2? I would hazard a guess many ppl have already bought their PS3 because of Killzone 2 and other exclusive titles, instead of waiting for titles to be released

IMO Killzone 2 will be a system seller.

I think this is PS3's Gears of War in that regard.

Though it will sell some consoles, there are still other factors to consider.

***Factors still here:

-Recession is in full swing.
-PS not known to have big Shooters that push consoles.
-It's after Xmas, most are broke as some just begun to loose jobs. School is back in session.
-A casual game like LBP could do much during the biggest sale season.(Something is still wrong here)

I might be wrong but this is what I think.

***Now what can help

-Halo 3 type Marketing
-Reviews(Oh they matter)
-PS3 Price-cut(wishful thinking there)

***What will happen during:

-Resistance 2 sales will slow to a crawl(currently at 1.3 million)-Feel sorry for that game..

-Some will get away from COD for a couple of weeks.

As was said many times here on N4G about Halo 3 moving consoles, everybody that wants Killzone 2 already has a PS3. I expect a slight boost for a month or two at most and then things will return to normal. I'll be getting my copy on release day.

Tv spot for Superbowl will def gather attetion, sony has to keep the advertisements for the game strong till the game comes out...Recession isnt gonna hurt the sales,I think this holiday was a great example.

It isn't a proven franchise yet. MGS4 and Halo 3 sold consoles because they had massive followings from previous games on older consoles. Killzone 1 was a mediocre game with no following. There isn't any Killzone 1 fans holding off on buying a Ps3 till K2 comes out like there would have been with MGS4 or Halo 3.

It will sell well but only among current Ps3 owners

Im buying the system for this game, so I'd say yes it is.

It will be an awesome game, no doubt. I do believe it will move consoles. Does anyone know if Sony is bundling them? The only thing I think they may slow down sales (if you can even call it that) is that parents will have the horns go off when there child says they want a game called KILLzone.

It might be a system seller for some but, a price cut would do a whole lot more. If only they combo the two - $400 is just far too much for most people in the US to put down on something like a PS3.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

PS3 ended up been a beast of a console, slow out of the gate, picked up steam, smashed through the finish line. The 1st PS3 slim is still one of my favourite consoles. So solid, great games, by the time GTA5 and the last of us had come out it was a clear winner for me

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

Bring back killzone (maybe in 3rd person perspective)

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.
