Best to keep your Switch. The OLED model, if it's always docked, what was the point? Hardly anything in it graphics wise. Same with Switch games on Switch 2. As I say, keep your Switch with your Switch 2. Switch 2 Lite probably in 2027 or 2028.

why would you keep your Switch? Especially now that handheld boost mode exists on the Switch 2.

I do like the NS2 and boost mode, but for me its a matter of having the OLED. Its just a better screen than on the NS2. There are some games I will still use my NS1 for, mainly shmups that offer tate mode because i use a flip grip for those. I could play on the tv turned on its side... but again it comes down to that OLED screen. I dont have an OLED tv, nor am I in the market for one right now.

@darthv72 - I've never understood this argument. I can understand not liking boost mode because it treats it like the system is docked so you lose the touch screen and all that, but why someone would prefer a 720p / 60Hz screen over a 1080p / 120Hz / VRR + HDR enabled screen is beyond me. Even if you get a bit better blacks and colors. Not to mention the new screen is nearly 2 inches bigger.

Plus if you ever do dock the system, the OLED argument becomes pointless. OLED TVs have come down in price huge, you can get a decent sized one for considerably cheap. Even if you look at something like an LG model 4 version (B4, C4) which is a 2024 model. Those are ridiculously cheap. They are clearing out the C5 model for example since the 2026 models (C6 are releasing).

I dunno, I liked the OLED screen on my old Switch, but it was so small and the resolution sucked. I'd take the S2 screen any day of the week to be honest. Sure, when the inevitable S2 OLED releases I will upgrade.
