The first thing it says in this review is that the button mapping was a poor choice by the designers of the game. Apparently this reviewer didn’t look to see that you can change the button mapping like you can in many games.

....if you have to change it, then it shows default mapping may have been a poor choice.

Actually, what it says is that even if you do change the buttons, the punch and shield are still paired, which means your shield is always on a delay.
