Even the beautiful sight of cherry blossoms and festive masks won’t stop the zombie horde from destroying everything in sight! My name is Julia Wolbach, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dead Drop Studios. I’m delighted to introduce you to the Sakura Ridge district just as Outbreak: Shades of Horror joins Xbox Play Anywhere and adds cross-platform multiplayer!
Julia writes: "Welcome to your new favorite nightmare, Survivors! My name is Julia Wolbach, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dead Drop Studios. I’m delighted to share new details with you today about our upcoming co-op survival horror title Outbreak: Shades of Horror, which will be releasing on Xbox Series X|S in 2026. Players will navigate the city of Cypress Ridge at the opening of a zombie apocalypse that threatens to annihilate all human life. Do you have what it takes to escape the city alive?"
Outbreak: Shades of Horror is an indie co-op survival horror game built in Unreal Engine 5 that utilizes a large, fleshed-out cast of characters to narrate an overarching story.
"The Connecticut-based (the US) indie games developer Dead Drop Studios are today very proud and happy to announce that their upcoming old-school survival horror game “Outbreak: Shades of Horror” (which is the next entry in their long-running "Outbreak" series), is now fully funded via Kickstarter! ("Outbreak: Shades of Horror" managed to reach its Kickstarter goal in just EIGHT days)" - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Hopefully this one will be ... better?
I appreciate the indie scene, but these games have been pretty bad and the devs have only survived on multiple instances of good faith.
