Cacabunga101d ago

A good way for Sony to say: are you considering Xbox for GTA? Think twice!

FPSRUSSIA101d ago

Neat. I expect there to be some cool cameos in this one.

Ninver101d ago

It's about to get real. Wolverine and GTA6 will skyrocket ps5 sales like crazy. I better be fighting sabretooth multiple times.

neutralgamer1992101d ago

Thats interesting. I think a September release is very believable. Phantom Blade Zero is September 8th so I would guess Wolverine is end of September. BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is this week. Soros is April. Crimson Dessert/Marathon is March. Halo is apparently summer. That leaves you know who in November and hopefully Tokom by December. For the down months I will be catching up on the Legend of Heros games. A truly stacked year for games.

Eonjay116d ago

I'm trying to get into the Legend of Heros JRPG series. There are a bunch and its a massive undertaking but I'm gonna play them in order by arc and the one avalible on PlayStation 4/5. People absolutely rave about this series so I'm gonna dive in when I have downtime from the other games this year.

Seraphim116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

Legend of Heroes is goat.

Now that the Calvard arc is wholly released I've recently started Through Daybreak. At least I believe I read this arc was 3 games. Anyway, not sure I'll be a glutton and play through all 3 in a row like I did all 4 Cold Steel games, but will definitely be wrapping these up this year. Also can't wait for Sky Chapter 2 to replay those in their updated glory. truly an epic tale and it will be a glorious yet sad day when this series finally wraps.

cloganart116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

Honestly, as much space they can put between themselves and GTAVI will maximize their results.

After GTAVI releases, the following few months will be pretty tough for any release. That game is basically Thanos

Elda116d ago

For me I more interested about all other AAA releases this year except GTA 6.

MajorLazer116d ago

Good for you 👏🏼 You are an exception, rather than the rule.

shinXseijuro116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

Gaming existed before GTA and gaming shall remain after GTA. It’s not like the industry and the world will stop because a popular game dropped in November . The world will keep spinning . I can understand giving space for the more popular game but once that game is out and on the shelves it’s out and on the shelves . Call of duty nba and sports games always but that don’t keep other companies from releasing games lol

cloganart116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

I feel you! But You know what I mean though right? Launching within the ~2-3 week timeframe as GTAVI is really unnecessary stress for your business potential lol

Eonjay116d ago

@Elda and @shin

No one is saying that gaming will STOP. They other companies simply don't want to be overshadowed by GTA... you know.. because money. Seems really straight forward. Would be dumb to just rail against your own interests.

Elda109d ago (Edited 109d ago )

For me any game that I'm interested to play that drops at the same time frame as GTA 6 I will buy. I'm quite sure there are some gamers that feel the same way I do. I just don't have any interest to play GTA 6 which I felt about their past games.

chicken_in_the_corn116d ago

They said the same thing about Silksong. That came and went the same way every other game does. It's barely talked about now.

shinXseijuro116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

What’s crazy is I bought silksong this past holiday season . I’m at the last boss right now . It’s Pretty good game . I need to try the first one once I’m done .

MajorLazer116d ago

Are you seriously comparing Silksong to Gta? Gta 6 will likely sell 3 times Silksong's total sales to date in a single day. Gta 5 is still one of the most sold games every quarter.

chicken_in_the_corn115d ago

@MajorLazer

It wasn't me comparing them. It was the gaming community claiming it would be the only game anybody would buy or talk about and now nothing could release anywhere near it. It didn't happen. GTA will be the same.

I feel like there are only two choices for this and virtually every other projected Q4 release: move up your release date, or delay to 2027. Regardless of how you personally feel about GTA VI, it's financial malpractice to do anything except get out of its way.

cloganart116d ago

Exactly. Launching so close to GTA VI is just unnecessary stress 😂

repsahj116d ago

So excited! A sure day 1 for me!

hombreacabado116d ago

their best course of action is to be the AAA game people buy and play before GTA 6. That will put them in a great position and even win some GOTY awards.

Most Anticipated Game of 2026

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "If 2025 has taught us anything it's that the games you look forward to don't always end up as your big winners, due in part to only three games from last year's shortlist actually releasing and in other part to some big sleeper hits stepping up to the plate. But, of course, that won't stop us from looking forward just the same. Here are the most promising titles of 2026, that we know of."

Only one I’m interested in is Wolverine, that will be a day one purchase. All the others will be had during sales after already significant price reductions have happened.

DivineHand125130d ago

This list is very short. I am not sure I would put Saros on the list because Returnal is a very niche title. This is a bullet hell game. Those games have their audience, but they are not for everyone, and I would never recommend that game to anyone unless I know they love those types of games.

My most anticipated games are:

GTA 6
Forza Horizon 6
Fable
007 First Light
Wolverine

I don't own a Switch 2, so no Nintendo games are on my list, and I am also keeping an eye on Halo CE remake, Pragmata, Invinsible vs, Nioh 3 and a few others.

I know Resident Evil Requiem is missing from my list, but that is because I am behind in the Resident Evil story. I will need to play through RE 7 and Village at some point. Otherwise, it would be on my list.

coolbeans129d ago

-"I am not sure I would put Saros on the list because Returnal is a very niche title."

That's the thing: these five finalists are a result of a 50/50 voting share between VGChartz's community & staff. Returnal may qualify as a niche title overall, but quite popular to the users of this site.

medman130d ago

I would put Replaced among my most anticipated, along with Wolverine

coolbeans129d ago

Hell yeah! March is just around the corner too.
