Nintendo Issues DMCA Takedown Notices Against All Switch Emulators on GitHub

Nintendo issues DMCA notices against all Switch emulators, targeting GitHub projects in a new legal crackdown on Switch emulation.

There is also Ryubing. Nintendo you will never win with piracy, just give it up idiots. People making/updating Switch emulators should just make torrents and share them on torrent sites, problem solved. Nintendo will not be able to even take them down. That would be a big 🖕 to Nintendo. Switch ROMs are all over torrent sites for years, nothing can be done I love it.

You know piracy hurts the industry right? I'm assuming you like games because you're on a gaming site so why do you want to hurt the industry?

if everyone decided they didn't need to buy silksong and just pirated the switch game the dev would of been massively hurt by this.
You might see it as a middle finger to Nintendo but it's more than just Nintendo who profits from the switch countless third parties publish on it and if their games are free they loose sales which means they have to downsize or close and then we get less ambitious games more trend chasing or nothing

I bought a Switch OLED and then a Switch 2 based off the fact I played a switch emulator.

The switch had been released for years and I had absolutely no interest in buying one or even playing one for the most part. After playing the emulator and a selection of games I went out and bought them all. Nintendo should be careful with an overly heavy hand.

NotoriousWhiz61d ago

For every 1 of you, there are at least 5 people that have never bought a Switch game but managed to play all the good ones.

Profchaos61d ago

Honestly you should have seen this site when TOTK came out so many people were condoning piracy simply because the switch was underpowered and thus felt that TOTK shouldn't be a full priced game.

Crazy mental gymnastics to justify pirating TOTK day 1

The Nintendo that people have so much nostalgia for doesn't exist anymore.

PRIMORDUS61d ago

I have a Switch 2 and I feel the same. This will most likely be my last console from Nintendo.

Vits61d ago

It died with Iwata. The company we see now is just soulless.

babadivad61d ago

It never existed. Nintendo has been this litigious and draconian since the NES days. Those contracts were absolutely brutal and they enforced them relentlessly.

The reason players never noticed is because the internet wasn't a thing so information did spread like it used to. And because their ire was directed at gamers (yet).

This is who they always were, same as Disney.

the emulator on its own isnt illegal at all.
Nintendo really is a pathetic excuse of a company that banks heavily on nostalgia and nothing else

Just give me an HD remaster of the Xenosaga trilogy.

This would be amazing especially if they did a Switch 2 version.

Not gonna play this game before they stop selling cosmetics in shop that looks better than drops in-game. Stupid company

Gameseeker_Frampt6h ago

Could be worse. Path of Exile has no cosmetic drops in-game but will happily sell them to you for $30 each.

PoE is also free and has actual good updates every 3 months and listen the community. Combined with the fact that PoE actually is for adults instead of the cookie cutter shit you get in D4, build diversity? no ofc not, on the item it literally says for which single skill the item works for and for nothing else so you're pigeonholed into a couple very specific items if you wanna play a certain build which kills all personal builds and everyone is just running with the exact same items, compare that to PoE where there's endless viable builds.
