Three indie projects influenced by Parasite Eve are in the works, and a strong reception could motivate Square Enix to bring the series back.
Parasite Mutant, a survival horror RPG inspired by Parasite Eve, has a demo out now on Steam.
Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune developer IceSitruuna has announced Parasite Mutant, a Parasite Eve-inspired science-fiction horror RPG set in the distant future. It will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2026.
I’ll get it. Maybe if it does well SE will think about a real game.
I really annoyed the original parasite eve, I still remember it being so original at the time. I hope this game does really well, the combat reminds me of the original and im sure I'm gonna get into this game.
Looks good, hopefully it can recreate the ‘resident evil with light rpg elements’ vibe of PE.

By the way, the Real Time blend with Turn based was old by that point. With the Secret of Mana and Star Ocean series coming to mind. And I'm sure there might have been others.
Anything Parasite Eve coming back would be welcome.
At this point, I would settle for them to release the first game on PSN. Such a wonderful game.
The complication is that it is a licensed property, originally a book. Square Enix have the rights to things they designed but not the overall property I believe.
