And with that, the final Obscure Observation comes crumbling down around his feet. We were right all along. Xbox is now fully a third party developer. I'd be surprised to see new hardware out of them... now that the APU is taped out, they might have to release it just to keep from losing billions in R&D, or maybe they'll do the 3DO route and license it out like they did their handheld, but Microsoft has no exclusives left to sell their hardware, not like they sold any to begin with, so releasing another console themselves is a suicide mission.

I think that IF a console was already knee deep in R&D with a ton of money poured in already, they will go ahead and release it. I think it all depends on how far it is and what they are forecasting for things we haven’t seen yet.
It’s wild to think, but gamespass and the pursuit of must have games for it killed Xbox. Activision and ID were already making games for Xbox but they wanted those games on Gamespass. The games sell great and people are willing to buy them so they would never see something like gamespass until sales crawled or stopped. Microsoft wanted those games day one so people would subscribe. I think almost 80 billion for everything they bought just to STILL put those games on other systems they were already coming on. NOTHING changed but now the big games are on day one. That money should have been on creating their own compelling software.
Microsoft as a whole has been so caught up on subscriptions.

Yes O-O stated on several occasions that Starfield wasn't coming to PS & here we are.

I don't think those sales are gonna be what they want

This game needs to go back for a complete overhaul to get me interested in playing it now. But since that’s not likely to happen, it’s gonna be an easy pass for me.

you didn't miss much PlayStation users. its fallout, in space, with a tedious fast travel mechanic disguised as a customizable space ship.

I really hope the retail release is a proper physical release...

They better Phantom Liberty the shit out of this game if they want a real success story on their hands, because as of now, this is no more than a $14.99 impulse buy during a PSN sale.

Rebel_Scum27d ago

It certainly has that morbid curiousity smell like Anthem did.

SimpleSlave27d ago

For sure, but only on a deep, and I mean deeeeep, sale.

Oh boy, I can't recommend the vanilla version of Starfield to.... Anyone. I got the premium edition through an AMD deal for free, and still think I overpaid. Having said that, I had to buy Shattered Space because Star Wars Genesis stopped working without it, and that TC makes the game a LOT of fun. Per the Genesis forums, console versions will not be supported - so console owners will be stuck with the very subpar vanilla version of the game.

Bethesda hasn't even had their developer continue with oblivion...why would I trust them here.
