How can you have an ecosystem if you have no players? Xbox is losing ground, and players. Game Pass is skyhigh in price and players aren't happy. Stop, pretending that console sales don't matter. Also, Nintendo is owning the console sales in the past 8 years.

Well I’ll give it to Nintendo fanboys they came out of the woodwork to make the switch 2 the fastest sallying console only to be the first console to be discounted on it first Black Friday and still discounted now the day before Christmas

Nope, Unless SEGA re-enters or Atari or Apple then nope no more console wars. Sony is for the mainstream games and Nintendo does their own thing getting mainstream games from time to time but mostly focusing on their own IP.

The idea of "console wars" is dumb to begin with. I'm all for competition, but it's the toxic, fanboyist environment I'm allergic to. Yes Xbox has been under-delivering compared to PS after the 360-era, and I'm totally against their current strategy. I think it's a waste of what once was a promising brand, but I sincerely hope they get rid of their current people in charge and make a come back to provide some decent competition again.

There was never a "war" except for the back and forth between fanatics of different ecosystems. But sales have always mattered and will continue to matter into the future. Putting your games on every possible device doesn't mean anything if people aren't buying, no matter what the dopes at xbox say.

It only matters when you pick a side. You see it in sports, cars, etc etc. only problem now it’s worked its way into politics. Where people vote for who their friends vote for to stay in the group.

My issue has been and continues to be Nintendo who releases worthless hardware. They could own the industry in a way that I wish they would. If they were as powerful as a Series X, PS5, offered Ninchievments, better social features.

It be incredible. Yet here we are. Switch 2 isn’t really much of an upgrade. It will not receive GTA6 most ports aren’t worth buying on their under powered hardware and play terribly. It’s just weird that they refuse to get serious.

I mean it’s fine I’m a fan. But I really wish they’d come out with something powerful. The days of 30FPS gaming being good enough are long gone.

I have spent many a night imagining how incredible their exclusives look on a powerful hardware. It’s seemingly never going to happen. But I sure wish it would. The thing sell like nobodies business. You know it, I know it, the world knows it.

But I digress. This is all a pipe dream. Switch 2 being priced at what it is and as weak as it is really irks me. Yes it’s portable but again a great upgrade over Switch OLED? Not really..

why would something that's over matter?

I feel like everyone is just doing their own thing now and it doesnt matter anymore. The only person that cares is the one that keeps making alt-accounts to glaze Microsoft. Xbox has a Game Pass that is one of the best values for many players, Sony is involved in creating their standout, 1st-party titles and Nintendo will keep using their juice to get their now-grown fans to keep buying their games as they ride the nostalgia train.

Of course it does. And Sony won! If the shoe was on the other foot MS would have screamed it from the rooftops! So the war matters. HA!

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
