Xbox Focus Is "Delivering Player Satisfaction & Value;" Evaluating $80-Priced Games

Xbox's boss says they are focused on delivering player satisfaction and value, and how they are always going to listen to what people want.

If you listened to what players want then you wouldn't have brought up and destroyed a huge part of the industry... also being one of the leaders in charging $80 for a standard edition is a big middle finger to gamers.

Make your own games instead of talking and destroying you feckless creativity bankrupt POS

Even though I agree with your sentiment, to be fair Activision and Bethesda were on the path to becoming crap even before the Microsoft purchases. Microsoft sure enough expedited that process though.

You just a hater, regardless. They obviously wanted to be bought or else it wouldn't of happened. Just keep in mind that the one that you prefer played a big part in bringing that deal to fruition. The majority of the "players" that didnt want this deal are not xbox gamers anyway. If you're mad now, next gen you are gonna be a full on lunatic. Don't let that hate in.
As the kid from the Babadook said" you let it in. You have to get it out".🫨

For your own benefit, read yourself into it a little bit.

Once a company is shared between investors (a company doesn't necessarily have to be publically traded for that), it's not up to the core of studio(s) anymore to decide wether to get bought or not.

Take Zenimax for instance.

Their biggest investor wanted to sell Zenimax even years prior already.

And later, then they went with Microsoft's offer, returning them a profit of almost 4bn dollars.

You think id software, for example, had anything to say here?

As far as I know id software, they probably couldn't care less actually, only wanting to continue developing games either way.

Zenimax' investors wanted to sell. The same with ABK.

Christopher30d ago

You're acting like all the people involved in 'wanting' any major company sale aren't shareholders and executives aimed at making tons of money and who don't even play games.

Absolutely no one asked the 'gamers' what they want and I guarantee 'sell it to other big company' would be in the top 20 list even if they did.

NotoriousWhiz31d ago

For the record, there is currently only one game being sold for 80$ and it's not on Xbox.

There’s countless special editions (aka, the full game) available for anywhere from $70-$120 across the board, most AAA offer (again, the entire game all dlc) for $100.

Yep. Imagine if they were not lazy and invest that 65B into new talent and studios to make new games and new expriences. Heck spend that money bringing back old franchses they already have.

They could have helped grow the industry instead of just taking over 3rd party games that WERE ALREDAY GOING TO BE ON THE XBOX.

Time and time again MS proves they just don't get it.

And that's why Xbox has come in dead last all 4 generations.

Come on obscure, just use your main account.

Michiel198930d ago

and no one here complained when sony pushed for 70 because obviously "that was good for the gaming industry".
i would call it goalpost shifting but at this points those goalposts are just flying through the fucking sky

Christopher30d ago

I've been told by everyone that games cost more to develop, regardless of your platform preference. Personally, if Larian can produce BG3 and sell at $60, and come away with enough money to make a CGI video for TGA that lines up with AAA studios (actually puts Diablo IV to shame, by a ton) there's absolutely no reason for price increases. This whole "Sony vs MS" thing is just people arguing when they've all said the same thing about pricing. It's dumb.

If you were listening at all since CliffyB left, then you would’ve invested in AAA games. But instead you’re gaslighting us into thinking games like Halo and Gears are antiquated.

We’re not all that dumb.

I love how Microsoft always listens to the community and deliver the best quality products.
/SSSSSSSSSSSSARCASM 👆 👆
The minimum the could do is waiting for the next generation and have the excuse of “the cost to develop for the new generation is higher “
THANK YOU NINTENDO
