I think it's more like Prince of Delusion

Disappointed to see Star Wars Outlaws on there. Sure, the game *can* look good, but it has so many issues with keeping it looking good even with good GPUs. Even with config alterations that need to be made since Division, muddy textures pop up like crazy over time. They should prioritize games that work well and look well, not just look well for 10 to 15 minutes before it decides to kick the bucket with a memory leak.

LoveSpuds32d ago

It was specifically the Switch 2 version squire, which is apparently very impressive given the system it is running on.

gold_drake32d ago

given by that criteria, doom on a fridge is also very impressive. ha

Christopher32d ago

Same disappointment. They can take the time to make the game run well on the Switch 2, but not on other consoles and PC? Shouldn't be on the list.

LoveSpuds32d ago

Personally, Death Stranding 2 would be my pick. I appreciate the technical presentation of AC Shadows however, a big factor for me in a games graphical appeal is the art design and in this respect, nothing comes close to DS2.

dveio32d ago

The one thing Ubisoft really done was always building great in house tech, I can't deny.

DS2 and Shadows are both great looking games.

gold_drake32d ago

this rly depends on how someone defines "best graphics"
definitely different for everyone

Christopher32d ago

They're very focused on 'technology' more than anything else. Even then, they prioritize certain technologies over others.

All 2025 Canadian Game Awards Categories & Nominees

The Canadian Game Awards celebrates gaming’s greatest achievements created by developers in the Great White North in 16 categories, with contenders ranging from AAA games like Dragon Age: The Veilguard to indie titles like this year’s surprise hit Balatro. The ceremony will occur on February 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Awards have previously been shown on Amazon Prime Video, though they may not be available in every region.

In addition to celebrating games and their developers, the Canadian Game Awards also highlight some of the gaming community through their Esports and Content Creator categories. This is a nice way to honor the people who create meaningful ways to engage with gaming as a hobby outside of just playing games. At the very least, the Canadian Game Awards is a great way to learn about some new games that may have been overlooked by other awards ceremonies this past year.

Inquisition and TLOU2 over God of War?

Sure

S2Killinit361d ago (Edited 361d ago )

TLOU2 was amazing. So was God of War but yeah, makes sense to me. Witcher being so high up does not. TLOU was easily my number one game (although I have not played Baldours gate and Elden Ring yet)

Okay, but The Game Awards are the most biased, least game-centric awards of all big 5 (with GJA, GDCA, BAFTA, DICE). They're diet E3, an ad reel for new games with awards as a side dish.
Almost none of TGA's GotY winners are the true game of the year besides maybe Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring (which had no competition in 2022 aside for God of War).

BlackCountryBob361d ago

God of War as number 9? Seriously that games a masterpiece

goken361d ago

Well for me definitely better than DA inquisition. Baldurs gate and sekiro I can’t say since i never played them.
I wouldn’t rank it higher than witcher 3, zelda and elden ring though.

jznrpg33d ago

Sekiro is an amazing game but its difficulty would turn most off. You have to utilize different skills with the right timing for each boss and if you don’t you will never beat them. When you think you beat the first boss then you realize that was just the first phase was super memorable for me.
