Omg, the whole atmosphere is gone.

It’s a big difference especially considering PS4 is 12 years old and Switch 2 is a few months in.

At least the frame rate is better but they should’ve done a proper Switch 2 version.

Vits57d ago

Honestly, this doesn't bode well for the console. Not because it looks like crap, though it does, but because other channels have compared it with the Switch version and concluded that they’re basically the same. The only differences are a slightly higher resolution on the Switch 2 and the fact that it runs at 60fps.

So it’s basically the laziest port possible. And if this does well, developers will just be motivated to do more of this kind of BS.

Switch 1 games enhanced for Switch 2 with resolution and frame rate improvements don't bode well for Switch 2?

Yeah ok sure, if you say so. Personally, I think that's far better than, for example, lazy Pro versions of games throwing in a low quality upscaler and calling it a day.

VersusDMC57d ago

Pro upgrades should be the same as next gen upgrades now?

Some unrealistic expectations for a console 50 bucks cheaper than a 2tb series x...

Vits57d ago

That is not what I said. This game was made for the Switch 2, and the version in the video is the native Switch 2 version. But it looks bad because the developers basically just upscaled the Switch 1 version. The only real changes are the higher resolution and better frame rate. There is no extra foliage, no better textures, no volumetric lighting or smoke, nothing. That is why it even looks worse than the PS4 version, because it is basically just an upscaled Switch 1 game being sold as a Switch 2 game.

This is bad for the Switch 2, because it makes the console look weak. It ends up looking like an upscaled Xbox 360 game.

You are giving far more weight to a $20 unannounced shadowdrop Aspyr port than I think even Aspyr does.

@Vits

"And if this does well, developers will just be motivated to do more of this kind of BS."

you don't have to worry about this one. it's a 3rd party games on the Switch. it won't do too well

Vits57d ago

I mean that is bad as well, not selling well, means "why bother making actual good ports, just port for the Switch and upscale it".

Really Nintendo? Your skimping schemes that have neutered your consoles for the last two decades are pathetic at this point. Drop some balls on your boys.
