LOL WTF is this? this is not something like Intel vs AMD market share and it's not even even close! Steam as the major platform on PC and thwarting MS Store is nothing new but gaming or not, people and corporations are going to continue to buy Windows for now and MS has nothing to worry about there. The biggest rising threat to Windows right now is Android and Steam is also slowly but surely making their way there allowing for more and more Steam games to be playable on Android.

MacOS/iOS will not go anywhere and it looks like Apple is doing a good job keeping their closed ecosystem happy. MS on the other hand, is taking many wrong turns with Windows that rub people the wrong way and they are doing it purposedly and only releasing fixes when there is a huge backlash over their questionable decisions. it's not long until Android laptops becoming the norm and if MS keeps bloating Windows with stuff people don't want, those Android laptops are going to look more and more appealing to many more casual users making them leave Windows. I personally am very comfortable doing my work with Android tablets myself but the only thing missing is Steam but that is looking to change not long from now.

Until you can easily play competitive games that require anti-cheat on Linux, it will never succeed with the masses. If I were to switch, I wouldn’t want to keep Windows installed just to play a few games. For most people, it’s all or nothing.

All that has been on here recently is sideways ass stories about MS, CoD, now windows lol, just take it easy, your favorite game company uses windows for their games, and Cod is not a MS exclusive, you can play it whenever you like, and if you don't like it, then skip it...but just relax, million of people are enjoying it right now...that won't change because you like BF6 more , or hear me out, they both might just be good games and you can play both...oh snap!!

Right now Windows is still a dominant force in the PC market. I hope Microsoft sees this as an area of opportunity and tries to optimize a gaming version of windows before Linux starts to markets hare. share.

Linux is a more stable operating system than Windows. In theory gaming should be more stable on Linux if supported natively by developers like with Vulkan. Vulkan is legit.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
