The ROG Xbox Ally X is now available; here's how it compares with the Nintendo Switch 2 in terms of graphics, performance, and battery life.

The new handheld gaming PC to beat.
From the easy-to-use Xbox Full Screen Experience to the excellent performance from the AMD Z2 Extreme, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is easily the best handheld gaming PC available right now.
Score: 9/10
Xbox Era: "The ROG Xbox Ally X. Is it an Xbox? I don’t think so. It’s a $1000 dollar PC handheld that has a distinct Xbox flavour. A capable and extremely comfortable PC Handheld with some great design ideas that bring Xbox and PC closer than ever before, and is one of the best handheld PC experiences to date."
It would have been ASUS' next Windows PC handheld device anyway.
Paid for/subsidized by Microsoft now to brand it with 'Xbox'. MS were already delivering OEM Windows for it in 2023 anyway.
With now, according to what I've gathered from reviews so far, Microsoft's software engineers first steps combining Windows & Xbox console UI.
It's shaping up, isn't it.
Xbox Next will be the same direction, ofc with improvments, and Microsoft branding one/two AMD PC hardware setups with 'Xbox'.
Without any of that usual console subsidization/hardware R&D. Such as this device right here already, too.
Where are the people who are criticizing the Switch 2 screen? XD $1000 device, screen not oled, and the HDR is just 500 nits( switch 2 is 450 nits).

Eurogamer: “Do I like the ROG Xbox Ally X? Yes. Does it give me those sweet techdorphins you get from using a lovely bit of new kit? Will it replace my Steam Deck? Almost certainly.”
LOL!!! Nice one Nintendo!
Just put Bazzite or SteamOS on the Xbox Rog Ally X or the original Rog Ally X and you'll have equal or better numbers than with the Switch 2. Battery life also improves with Linux.
DLSS is light years ahead of the competition.
Xbox Ally takes the win.
The Xbox handheld is a $1000 and it's being compared to the Switch 2...Imaging paying $1000 for this and $1800 for $500 worth of games on GamePass.
