By the way, I have a grip from Dobe that will make the Switch 2 look like an Xbox Rog Ally. I just bought it for $5.

Im waiting for CRKD to make an updated nitro deck grip. I love their original for the switch 1.

VenomUK224d ago

This is a comparison that it’s interesting to know to understand the performance difference. However, a person in the market for a Switch 2 is not going to be considering a Rog Xbox Ally which is double the price.

Tapani225d ago

Just put Bazzite or SteamOS on the Xbox Rog Ally X or the original Rog Ally X and you'll have equal or better numbers than with the Switch 2. Battery life also improves with Linux.

That's a good point. Great device but bad os. Yup Windows!

DLSS is light years ahead of the competition.

Neonridr225d ago

goes to show you how good Nvidia is by comparison.

And Nvidia said that they will have a major update of Switch 2 DLSS this coming Nov or December to further boost Performance and Image quality.

What?! Where? That’s amazing!

The Xbox handheld is a $1000 and it's being compared to the Switch 2...Imaging paying $1000 for this and $1800 for $500 worth of games on GamePass.

babadivad225d ago

Bro, you're paying $500 for a system with a SoC that's outperformed by mobile phones. It also can't play as many Nintendo games as the Ally.

Nintendo also has ridiculous paywalls and can brick your hardware on a whim. Don't throw stones in a glass house.

spicelicka224d ago

Well said. Not to mention Nintendo doesn't even have a service like game pass. You need to pay $80-$90 for any decent game. The 16GB ROG Ally is only $170 more than the switch and much better performing.

soulreaper37224d ago

Yeah you seem to just be coming up with excuses

Reaper22_224d ago (Edited 224d ago )

Imagine paying $750 to $800 for a refresh console that cant even do quick resume or cant run some games better than the original one.

ROG Xbox Ally X | Review

Xbox Era: "The ROG Xbox Ally X. Is it an Xbox? I don’t think so. It’s a $1000 dollar PC handheld that has a distinct Xbox flavour. A capable and extremely comfortable PC Handheld with some great design ideas that bring Xbox and PC closer than ever before, and is one of the best handheld PC experiences to date."

It would have been ASUS' next Windows PC handheld device anyway.

Paid for/subsidized by Microsoft now to brand it with 'Xbox'. MS were already delivering OEM Windows for it in 2023 anyway.

With now, according to what I've gathered from reviews so far, Microsoft's software engineers first steps combining Windows & Xbox console UI.

It's shaping up, isn't it.

Xbox Next will be the same direction, ofc with improvments, and Microsoft branding one/two AMD PC hardware setups with 'Xbox'.

Without any of that usual console subsidization/hardware R&D. Such as this device right here already, too.

Where are the people who are criticizing the Switch 2 screen? XD $1000 device, screen not oled, and the HDR is just 500 nits( switch 2 is 450 nits).
