2026 Plans? ..Making more millions without releasing a game.

same with 2027..2028 etc.

Giuseppe you jump from website to website to promote this product since years. Lol.

When was your first article about it? 2011 already? 2015? Or later?

SimulationDaily95d ago

When the Kickstarter was announced, obviously, I grew up with Wing Commander, so it's obvious that I'd keep an eye on this.

Last time I checked, a gaming website's job is to report on games, although many seem to have steered off course to focus only on drama, rumors, and silly crap like that. Star Citizen is a game, and a hell of a relevant one for those who care about sci-fi and Wing-Commander-style games. Hence, yes, I'll report about it anywhere I work. I'll argue that gaming journalists who scoff at it and don't cover it aren't doing their job properly.

You may say "without releasing a game," but what they have playable right now is bigger and arguably more fun than many "released" games out there, especially nowadays, after they have pushed for polish and content in the last several months. Personally, I have a ton more fun playing Star Citizen than any modern Call of Duty or the like.

It also does things no other game does, which is a nice added bonus.

Why do you think they have made almost as much in 2025 as they have made in 2024 and 2023 (their record year), with 2.5 months and the biggest event of the year to go?

Perhaps it's time that ya'll realize that Star Citizen players don't keep funding the game because they're crazy. They fund it because with all the highs and lows, and the issues, it's *already* fun, and every year that passes, it shifts more from a pipe dream to something that looks like it'll be achieved and will be good.

A lot of crow will be eaten over this game, and it won't be the fans to do the eating. Mark my words.

Terry_B95d ago

Yeah..you said that with the eaten crow already like..10 years ago on dualshockers ;)

But at least you're still entertaining Nelva ^^

Well said...Star Citizen is very playable now and absolutely DECIMATES any other space sim on the market today. I find it ironic when people jump from one hollow cookie cutter Early Access game to the next and then turn around and criticize Star Citizen that is actually doing something unique. Have they made mistakes along the way? Absolutely they have...but the end result ended in a product that is unlikely to be matched any time soon.

cloganart94d ago

Yeah, the timeline is just super slow for this game. It's been in Alpha Early Access at the very least for what, a decade now?

Any other game wouldn't have been able to get away with it 😂

LostPotato95d ago

It's a scam folks. Bravo to the developer for miliking 100's of million every year for a decade now.

The defenders are hilarious though. Oh well fools are easily parted from their money.

SimulationDaily95d ago

You know what's more hilarious?

People like you who have zero visibility on the game and judge on pure hearsay and hot air, and believe that those who play it every day and have a lot of fun with it are the fools. 😂

peppeaccardo94d ago

I hope they pay u well Bro for writing about this, at least they are not the only one making some money out of it. Have fun with your "soon to be released game". Thank God, besides those who got sucked into this thing, people have standards and would rather pay for and play something that has a story and all the other necessary mechanisms that make a game a real game not a graphic demo with which to stress out PC hardware.
Adios !

Miraak82 94d ago

@peppeaccardo haven't tried it but I assume most people that have invested into SC aren't really there for some arbitrary campaign component . It's a online space simulation first and foremost where people can play around in and not for people just wanna play the story and never touch it again . Some of the best games I've played I played years before some "official release" , unlike the past developers aren't constrained to released products in a set time frame . Just like PoE2 you can pay and start playing even though there isn't a release date. It's definitely better then playing some new barebone MMO that take years to flesh out after it's been "officially released" . I bet something like GTA6 has been done for years now and they've been fleshing out the online and systems tied to it .

StoneTitan94d ago

I mean you can play the game right now? I am not... I hope I get squadron somewhere down the line, but I have given up that hope :D But I know a lot of people that love Star Citizen in its current form. So who am I to judge?

I'm jealous of the people that can afford to play this game.

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

You can't afford $55?

thorstein15d ago

"Full disclosure: the author of this article has backed Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign."

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

...and as such, he knows better than you, who have never touched the game and can only rage about things you don't know. 😌

thorstein15d ago

So anyone critical of your site and it's blatant promotion of the game hasn't played the game? Yeah, okay, Abrael.

I didn't back it 14 years ago and I'm glad. That doesn't mean I haven't taken it for a spin.

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Sure you have dude. Sure you have.

If you did, you'd know that there's a reason (actually many reasons) why people who actually play it regularly keep supporting it more every year, and more and more join.

And it isn't that they're all crazy and you somehow know better. 😏

Incidentally. "My site" reports on games. Star Citizen is a game. So we report about it fairly, like we do with other games. The fact that you don't like it is completely irrelevant (and also hilarious).

But hey, keep chewing on bile every time there's news about the game if that makes you happy. May as well get used to it. We're not gonna stop regardless of how much you cry, and the game certainly isn't going to disappear.

fr0sty15d ago

These people are so gullible.

TheCaptainKuchiki14d ago

Can we stop calling it crowdfunding???? "Crowdfunding" is only valid when there's no product available for purchase.
Since popel are now able to buy a PRODUCT, it's simply called REVENUE. It's not an unreleased product anymore and hasn't been many years.

Darkseeker14d ago

All the people falling for this scam that will never be released.

It's beginning to look a lot like Griftmas.

Imagine buying in to this in your 20s and then, as you near, 40 years of age, there is still no difinitive release date for a finished game.

Sircolby4528d ago

Even at its worst, Star Citizen is already better than the overwhelming majority of games at their best. That goes especially for the steaming pile of shit the AAA devs are turning out these days. It's ironic that people will call this game a grift and then turn around and buy the latest Call of Duty clone.

thorstein28d ago

It's not ironic because I call this game a grift and I didn't buy CoD.

I spent 2025 buying and playing incredible indie games.
