Virgil, design director for ARC Raiders, writes: "Previously, the question of how we will handle resets or wipes has come up. Until now, the answer has been that “currently we do not intend to do mandatory wipes.” These words were chosen carefully, as we don’t intend to have mandatory wipes. However, as some have guessed, we do have a voluntary reset mechanic.
Just to make it clear, we absolutely see the benefits a global wipe provides. Veteran players can experience the game fresh, the economy is reset to the baseline, and all players have about the same level of capabilities. At least for a little while."

ARC Raiders has lost approximately 80% of its Steam concurrent player base since its peak earlier in the year.
I remember when it launched “it’s blowing away call of duty” said gamers with disdain for the old fps staple.
And I said “give it time and let’s see”.
We’ve now had time.
Not establishing an opinion here, just a realist that knows a good launch doesn’t necessarily equal success and longevity. Love or hate call of duty (pretty burned out on it personally) but it’s a staple now - like butter on toast or cheese on pizza. It’s the “coca cola” of video games because even non gamers know about it. That’s pretty hard to topple and takes exponentially more work and luck that COD just doesn’t have to do now (for good or bad).
I wish arc much success tho
people are so obsessed with player counts, my god!
Call of Duty only has 7% of their peak. So what.
