Bye Sweet Carole provides a wonderfully crafted story with vivid art that is sometimes hampered by gameplay hiccups

CCG writes - "Bye Sweet Carole is overall a good game. It's clear a lot of love and passion went into making it. Fans of adventure games will like its mechanics and puzzle solving, and fans of Disney aesthetic will absolutely love the art and music. The main plot surrounding Carole's disappearance and Lana's coming-of-age story is quite the emotional ride that suffers some from the heavy-handed way the women's suffrage movement is portrayed by the characters. The game does have some small bugs, but the developers are actively patching the game to iron them out. There are some moral considerations to take into account as well. If the moral considerations aren't enough to scare you away, then I can only say what I would say when I can't describe a dish's flavor: Try some for yourself; it's worth a taste."
Instantly added it to my wishlist as soon as I seen it because it looked amazing… However, this is the only positive review I’ve seen so far. It’s been slated as being a really poor game if you ignore the amazing art work.

Asura From NoobFeed writes: Bye Sweet Carole is a defiant reminder of art in a field that is ruled by photorealism and process perfection. It praises flaws, values honesty, and tells a story that seems both ancient and current. The work is more of a show than a product. It's a stage where brush, voice, and code come together to make something deeply human.

"When it comes to presentation there are plenty of ways to go about it in a video game and while many have opted for some form of pixel-art or try to be as realistic as possible, a select few have taken the classic animation route with even fewer going as far as to hearken back to the classic ’80s style of Disney animation. That is where Bye Sweet Carole manages to not only make its mark, placing its entire identity and storyline within this animation style, but even plays like a living movie. That being said, while these charming visuals may draw in potential players, does Bye Sweet Carole manage to deliver the gameplay and storyline to go along with this strong foot forward?"
