The Asus ROG Xbox Ally consoles launch on October 16th, marking the first time that Microsoft has released an official gaming handheld. The new ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X promise unique hardware and software improvements and could be priced aggressively, but can they compete against the Steam Deck, Switch 2, and a growing field of handheld gaming PCs?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.
Steam Deck - $320, $550, or $650
ROG Xbox Ally - $600 or $1000
Legion Go - $650 or $1100
MSI Claw Ultra 7 - $950
Nintendo Switch 2 - $450
Im gonna wait for Sonys ps6 hybrid console, and enjoy switch 2 until that happens.
Microsofts timing is awfull. Pure handhelds wont sell enough..hybrid consoles are the future.
too expensive and ugly. Just wait for Sony's handheld 😉
I was in at $800 but this is simply ridiculous. As much as MS has made off of gamers the greed can't be satisfied. Hard pass from me. More tempted to get a new monitor for BF6
So many people talking about the superior nature of PC handhelds yet the entire oc handheld market combined sits at around 6 million as of earlier this year.
The switch 2 did that in a week.
If these systems are not selling Microsoft will ditch them like a bad smell and support will cease because it's Microsoft they always do that they are just as bad as Sony and their side projects like psvr2 or the vita
Point being if you really mustnhave a portable PC go for a steamdeck because at least valve has proven they will support it
