Resident Evil Requiem dev surprised how smooth Nintendo Switch 2 porting process was

One of the standout games from the latest Nintendo Direct, Resident Evil Requiem has been receiving widespread praise on social media after its handheld gameplay on the Nintendo Switch 2 was showcased (you can check out the full details here).

In an interview with VGC, producer Masato Kumazawa spoke about bringing the game to other platforms on day one and praised Nintendo’s new hardware:

“Although we have released ports of the games to Nintendo platforms over the years, as you said, this is a bit more all-in on being day one on Switch 2, and that’s simply because when we got the Switch 2 hardware, we were surprised in a good way about how smooth the process was for us to bring the existing development version of the game to that platform”

Capcom does great ports for the Switch 2.

Do you want to call Randy Pitchford or shall I?

1080p30fps? Pfftt...should be easy. The PS4 had majority of its games running like that since 2013!

PS4 can handle advanced path-traced lighting and global illumination?

badz149228d ago

Sure...because path tracing and GI makes them games better, right? It must be embarrassing for the Switch 2 to have all the new tech and yet no game on that thing looks better than PS4's best games.

Just another PS4, what a surprise

Benjaminkno227d ago

Square has said switch can handle rebirth and ps4 can not, so, not quite

PS4 Pro on the go let's say.

Well deserved. I look forward to future content for the game.

Recently finished it and it's well deserved.

Now imagine the backlash if this was a Sony game.

Street Fighter IV revitalized both the fighting genre and Capcom as a whole. They haven't let off the gas since. And that RE engine really turned it up. It's like everything they release now outpaces themselves. Still can't believe they're bringing back Onimusha. Top 3 games I'm looking forward to this year.

The game has been properly cracked by voices38, no Hypervisor bypass shit. It actually runs better without Denuvo. From Tom's Hardware: "Denuvo properly cracked in Resident Evil: Requiem, bypasses become plug-and-play — cracked version runs faster, smoother, and uses way less VRAM and RAM" https://www.tomshardware.co... I personally don't give a shit about RE anymore, same crap every year it seems, but I got to give to voices 38 good job.🙌

More like the village idiot.

No one knows what the hell you’re talking about, using all those geek terms.

If Mercenaries is really coming back, that’s a huge win. It’s always been one of the most replayable modes in the series, especially in games like Resident Evil 4 and 5. Hopefully they modernize it a bit with online co-op or leaderboards, but keep the fast-paced arcade feel. Would be a great way to add longevity beyond the main story.
