Despite the power of PS5 Pro and new graphics cards, why are so many trailers, such as GTA 6 and Ghost of Yotei, captured on the base PS5? And why are developers treating the base PS5 as the target spec for everything? Even traditionally PC-focused studios like CD Projekt Red, with their recent tech demo of The Witcher 4

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "While not carrying the same heft it enjoyed long ago, last year was one of the adventure genre's most commercially-successful years in this century. A Telltale-esque adventure eclipsing 3 million sales in three months would be the talk of the town were it not for another adventure game hurdling over 10 million sales in two. Though not all finalists reached those heights, each did share a greater amount of spotlight compared to similar titles within their respective sub-genres.
Past any sales thresholds and popularity contests, 2025 also deserves credit for its creativity; the last time our entire shortlist consisted exclusively of new IPs was for Best Adventure Game of 2020. An impressive year for the genre, with even greater potential ahead."
Inti Creates’ vibrant action platformer Majogami will shed its Switch console exclusivity and strike PS5 on 28th May, the Japanese dev has announced.
Today, Bungie premiered its “Developer Insights | Runner Shells” video of their PvPvE survival extraction FPS Marathon.
The PS5 still has a loooooong time to go, just look at the PS4, this year marks it's 12th anniversary and new games are still coming out for it basically every week!
If we go by the same logic the PS5 will still get new games well into 2032, so I have zero worries about this generation because we still have years and years to play on PS5 even when the PS6 will be out.

The reason why is super easy. The base PS5 has the highest install base of any (current-gen) console. Showing the game running on the most common platform/console is simply showcasing how the most number of people will experience it.
For years, devs have gotten in trouble by showing console games running on PC with unrealistic framerates/visuals. This is just them being honest.
Also, Witcher 4 and GTA 6 look *shockingly* good on the base PS5, so it isn't like they're showing off a potato. And PS5 Pro owners can see those trailers and think 'Noice, my version will look/run even better!'.
PS5 Pro = snake oil!
