Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest VII Reimagined for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store). It will launch on February 5, 2026.
Console Creatures writes, "We got more details on Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined detailed the Vocation System, Vicious Monsters, and More."
This is going to be one of those games where you put it on and don't play anything else.
I played the demo and it seemed pretty good, but I've still got Bravely Default to get through before I start Octopath Traveller (I got the 1 + 2 bundle in the Switch sale) so this'll have to wait. Honestly I've never played a DQ game!

3 is chronologically 1st and the creators give you an in game gift in 1 and 2 if you play them 3,1, then 2.
For some reason this game has reignited my faith in gaming. Other than BF6 this is the first game I've been excited and willing to buy day 1 in literally years. I'd never played a DQ game until a few weeks ago, when I bought 1 & 2. The demo of 7 was excellent.

There are plenty of promising 2026 RPGs around the corner, from small, gorgeous indies to incredible, massive adventures. Fans of the genre should be excited.

Well this came right out the blue it looks great. This is the only DQ in the series I dont think i played
I'm buying it, I hope we get the other games too, then we'll have almost all of Dragon Quest on modern systems.
