Nintendo rarely creates new IPs because it doesn’t need to, says ex-developer, noting the company’s focus on fresh gameplay ideas first.
"It was so offensive to me"
Cliff Bleszinski shares thoughts on Gears of War’s PlayStation debut, E-Day, and Microsoft’s Game Pass strategy.

The narrative deduction title is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the App Store for just $7.
it just confirms what we've all been saying for years.
Nintendo rests on Nostalgia and it has a big catalogue of childfriendly games to fall back on.
and it works out for them, altough Nintendo fans are older than what they make games for.
it will probably never change.
They still have plenty of ips they can go back to as well. And they do still make some here and there.
I want new IPs from them. Something not geared towards kids
they generally dont experiment that much with new IPs but the change in mechanics and gameplay makes their games different and feel fresh, and it mostly works.
For instance Zelda switch from corridor/dungeon 3d linear games to fully open world with crafting mechanics.
Kirby went full 3d which allowed for the mouthfull mechanic to shine.
Donkey Kong Bananja was relying on desctructubility mechanic (even having the most diverse set of movement in the series)
Bowser's fury tried open world Mario (you could free roam the map and chose your next island to visit)
its not like the company does not experiment though.
During the nintendo switch generation we saw the releases of Mario Kart live, ring fit adventure, arms, nintendo labo for instance.
I've been saying this. though they might need to. Zelda's breaking sword is not a fun gameplay idea.
