I hope so. One big showcase befoire the end of the year. See Wolverine. Saros gameplay. Intergalactic gameplay. God Of War metroidvania-style game. Phantom Blade Zero, need a release date

LoveSpuds133d ago

I hope you are right, but I always try to keep my expectations in check when games shows are concerned.

Fingers crossed though squire🤞

Christopher134d ago

They need something once Ghost is release and, boy, Insomniac has pretty much carried PS5 this generation.

raWfodog134d ago

"Insomniac has pretty much carried PS5 this generation"

Don't forget the 3rd-party studios as well.

anast133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

What about Sony games and First party?

neutralgamer1992134d ago

Best 256 million spent. Insomniac was actually worth billions. Spiderman 1, miles morales, Spiderman 2, ratchet and clank and now working on wolverine most likely next Spiderman and ratchet. While studios like ND have released remakes and remasters. Insomniac just doesn't get the credit and recognition

I hope onc day they do a game like marvel ultimate alliance (similar with actual AAA production values)

repsahj134d ago

I want another Bluepoint game please!!! And I hope the Heretic Prophet will release on this generation(PS5)!

anast133d ago

I'll be salty if Heretic releases on PS6.

Christopher133d ago

I meant from the perspective of first-party.

anast133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

How has 3rd party carried more than the previous gen.?

I hope so, seems like the time would be right, get some hype, wait for GTA VI to release and get it ready for an Autumn/Winter launch for next year.

dveio134d ago

A State of Play dedicated to their 1st party games would be great!

And awesome, if none other than Kevin Butler opens it by putting on his suit one more time.

Elda134d ago

Sadly those days are long gone. Sony PS showcases new first party ips like molasses at this point in time.

repsahj134d ago

I agree, they waste the first 4 years of PS5. Now that Switch 2 is here, there is a slim chance now.

AdamHowlett134d ago

Been waiting on more information on this game longer than expected. I'm glad they're taking their time with it, but I'd be lying if I claimed not to be in a rush to get my hands on it.

Some good games on this list.

Eonjay4d ago

"This build felt close to final for a couple of reasons. First, the optimization was excellent. The game was running at a smooth 60 frames per second, and it was doing it on a base PlayStation 5."

At first I though he had mistaken because of the first picture in the article showing a Pro... but if you scroll down you can see that they had a setup for both the base PS5 and a PRO. So, good news then. The game is running on UE5 so it should be a great test for PSSR2.

PlayStation's Wolverine creative director is now leading Xbox’s Perfect Dark

Two major upcoming first-party video games have gotten big changes at the top, as part of an unusual leadership shuffle.

Why is it a developer who worked for a Sony game then moves to an MS game always a story?
I never see an article when it’s the opposite tho.

Tacoboto442d ago

Because it doesn't work that way?

Seems like most of the bigger names in Xbox don't go to Sony. Joe Staten to Netflix (now closed though). Mike Ybarra and another one or two to Blizzard/Activision (now back at MS). "Co creator of Halo" to studios they found or cofound. The guy who led Gears of War is now the guy leading Diablo.

And of course how Xbox doesnt have the talent in the first place to lose...

Some idiot called it "wokeness"

Now:

No sure why you´re acting like an insecure teenager, dude. Those people move from a company to another back and forth every time.

It´s not like they´re jumping ship or anything like that.

Chill

jznrpg442d ago

That’s strange. I thought Perfect Dark was close to release but it seems they are resetting.

Tacoboto442d ago

I think Wolverine might be more fitting of that description than Perfect Dark.

I mean, PD just got a creative director, Wolverine just lost its.

Nasdac442d ago

It's usual if he finish his work in there but it's unusual to get a creative director in a finish line product.

mkis007442d ago

Wolverine got an in house replacement, someone who has been on the project from the outset. PD just got someone who now has to be onboarded. How much can a new outside creative director do this far in development assuming it's releasing in 2026?

Obscure_Observer442d ago

@mkis007

"How much can a new outside creative director do this far in development assuming it's releasing in 2026?"

A lot. The new creative director at this point will probably work on side missions, new cosmetics, weapons, gadgets and future DLCs.

jznrpg133d ago

This doesn’t look good now

Not resetting the games most likely a 2026 release.

FinalFantasyFanatic442d ago

I feel like it's always in development, is this the same game they've been working on since the 360? Or is this a sequel/reboot/whatever?

Obscure_Observer442d ago

"That’s strange. I thought Perfect Dark was close to release but it seems they are resetting"

We heard the same crap when Darrell Gallagher brought Crystal Dynamics on board.

We already have an official gameplay trailer for Perfect Dark and it looks fantastic and got people hyped!

Wolverine on the other hand... well, let´s just wait for Insomniac to reveal anything (non leaked).

Tacoboto442d ago

Those leaks really killed my hype for it so honestly, PD getting its CD did nothing to get me more or less excited for either.

Could entirely be that we haven't seen anything official yet because internally they didn't like the creative direction was headed for Wolverine.

Or it could be just that Brian Horton wanted to work with The Initiative because he's another former Crystal Dynamics guy, as he was the director of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Such shuffles are not unheard of. There may have been unforeseen circumstances that have taken place. Having somebody to help steer the ship once the position is opened up is better than no direction.

At this point most design/art bibles are already set, and the game director is helping the game become feature complete. The new creative director should help hone in the cinematics, designs, whatever remains of the story much easier than having to start from scratch for both these projects.

Can't wait for both of these projects to come to full fruition. Wolverine seems to be almost ready for primetime reveal. Curious what this will mean for the end products!
