Nintendo Switch consoles price increase are already in effect at Target:

Switch OLED - $399.99
Non-OLED - $339.99
Switch Lite - $229.99

Nobody will care as usual. Kinda like the canadian prices for switch 2 games.

The "evil" companies like EA and 2K still have their upcoming games at 89.99 CAN(even switch 2 versions) for their standard versions while Nintendo...

Pokemon, breath of the wild, DK are 99CAN
Mario kart - 104CAN
Tears of the kingdom, mario party, kirby are 114CAN.

Imagine putting the price of a console that came out over 8 years up when the successor is out 😂😂 it'll be back up to to launch price 🤣 the damn thing must cost like 120 to make now. The greed is madness with how well Nintendo do

Well, no surprise as anyone keeping up with current events knows the tariffs go into effect. Elections have consequences, and companies will use any reason to increase revenue.

I have worked for the tire company that starts with the letter G for nearly 30 years and everyday I have to answer to the powers that b about profits, tariffs, price increases, overtime, and we just got another price increase today and the reason my bosses gave was many of our tires are made overseas many services are overseas and the price increases affects every part of our business.

Paying federal authorities to go after people is expensive. The customer has to pay for it.

Hate this. Old consoles should go down in price over time, not up!

I understand that this is likely because of tariffs, but this clearly works out well in Nintendo's favor with the timing of the Switch 2's release. The Switch 1 - an 8 year old console - is now $339.99. When someone sees that, and then looks to the Switch 2 for $449.99, they're going to see that it's only an extra $110 for the brand new model. And then, if they read the press release and see that they explicitly state that the Switch 2 could go up in price if it's necessary, they'll think they need to act quick and buy one before it goes up in price.

Again, I get it's because of tariffs, but Nintendo isn't dumb, and they're totally taking advantage of the opportunity.

Nintendo has turned into a pretty crappy company.

All this just to force people to migrate to Switch 2 faster, diabolical they're not doing that to their well-loved system unless they're desperate to gloss over many obvious flaws and criticisms.
It was pretty clear that Switch 1 is much better system in terms of its sense of ownership.
Glad that I got Switch Lite from Japan back in June for $150 brand new.
I just tried out both Mario Kart World and DK Bananza at a demo kiosk and I'm so glad that I'm not fall to FOMO, the thing atm is simply all hype and little in a way of substance.
MKW is just meh, with very wide course and constant item spamming and DK Bananza is an uglier DK lead Mario Odyssey with destructible environments, it literally can't keep the frame rate locked in while graphics are at times early to mid gen PS3 level, muddy textures everywhere masked by a lot of colors and contrast and after 10 minutes I was so bored of bashing away the scenery that I can't even finish the 15-minute demo.
I can't believe it got 90 Metacritic and Astro Bot is a far better game with better graphics and rock-solid performance while DK Bonanza at times makes me feel dizzy due to its camera issues and a lot whole lot of screen shake and low-quality motion blur.
Both games are overrated and definitely not worth spending $450+ in one fell swoop.
