I think we may have just discovered Osbcure's real identity

VenomUK195d ago (Edited 195d ago )

@Tacoboto. Who? I’ve noticed that over the past week with most of these hugely negative Xbox stories o they/them has been oddly absent. I suspect the pain has been too heavy a burden to bear, and they don’t want to be challenged on all the things they got wrong. So likely they/them had been using an alt account!

DarXyde195d ago

That's definitely part of it. Psychopathy for sure, especially when they swept for Kottick knowing what happened at ABK under him. That alone should have buried Microsoft, but people love their cheap games.

The thing is, I think they're so far removed from the average person that they don't understand how tone deaf this comment is. Listen to any of these people speak: Bezos, Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, Ackman, Musk, Thiel, Cooperman, etc etc etc. A lot eugenics and bizarre assumption that they're making sense for the general public. They've deluded themselves into thinking they're the best and brightest because they have the most money with a lot of brilliant people working for them to increase their wealth. Their advice is either impractical or ignores the personal narratives of their staff.

With that in mind, it is no surprise that the execs at Microsoft believe that the solution to their pesky [former] workforce's grievances is the very thing they're using to replace them.

AI is not a panacea, but you can't tell that to these kinds of people. If you know a subject matter intimately and ask ChatGPT about it, you will find that it frequently hallucinates. Which probably says a lot about these folks: they understand so little that they can't tell when the damn thing can't be trusted (in this case, with the mental health of their axed employees).

I'm looking forward to the day when we reach peak class solidarity and we properly boycott these idiots. Send their stocks into freefall.

ravens52195d ago

Im wishing for that day. It's possible it never comes though...People are usually focused on themselves and their loved ones. No one else, even if were all dealing with the same thing.

Talk about tone deaf. Read the room you silly suit

Someone needs to replace Matt Turnbull with AI.

Inverno196d ago

Replace an already artificial behaving human with AI? Ironically I think AI would show more care for those fired, and that would be very sad.

I asked ChatGPT to be the Xbox CEO and...

As CEO of [Xbox](w), preventing layoffs would be a top priority—especially in an industry driven by creativity, passion, and long-term relationships with talent. Here's a strategic approach I'd take:

---

### **1. Shift to Sustainable Growth Over Aggressive Expansion**

The games industry has experienced volatile hiring patterns. I'd move us away from *"grow fast, restructure later"* by focusing on:

* **Smaller, sustainable team expansions** tied directly to project pipelines.
* **Outsourcing non-core work** where appropriate, to maintain flexibility.
* **Project-based contracts** for specific needs rather than bloated full-time staffing during peaks.

---

### **2. Reassess Studio Integration & Autonomy**

Microsoft acquired many studios (e.g., [Bethesda](w), [Activision Blizzard](w), [Double Fine](w)). To avoid redundancies:

* **Streamline overlapping roles** *before* they scale unnecessarily.
* **Empower studios to self-manage** hiring needs based on actual development timelines and milestones.
* Preserve **distinct cultures** so creative teams aren't crushed under corporate bureaucracy.

---

### **3. Stabilize Game Development Pipelines**

Games take years to develop—and missed deadlines lead to crunch or cancellations.

* Invest in **project management and tooling** to better forecast and prevent massive overstaffing during development lulls.
* Encourage **co-development** across studios to keep talent engaged across projects.

---

### **4. Diversify Revenue to Protect Jobs**

Rather than relying solely on tentpole releases:

* Continue expanding **Game Pass** to provide more **recurring revenue**.
* Develop **mid-tier and experimental titles**—less risky, more stable.
* Grow **cross-platform services** (like Xbox Cloud Gaming) that open new markets without ballooning headcount.

---

### **5. Transparent Communication and Financial Buffering**

* Share honest, **quarterly studio-level projections** to identify issues early.
* Build financial reserves or apply **"rainy day" budgeting** to avoid reactive cuts.

---

### Bottom Line:

Preventing layoffs means long-term thinking—aligning headcount with project reali.ty, building diverse revenue streams, and avoiding corporate bloat. Morale, innovation, and trust depend on it

@thorstein AND ALL READERS. NEUTRAL OPENAI GPT ANSWER VS @thorstein FRAMEWORK. HIS FRAMEWORK ANSWER IS CLOSE BUT, NOT THE SAME3!!!

🎯 1. ✅ Standard GPT Answer (No COMETHEAD / No Roleplay)
If you asked normally, “What would a CEO of Xbox do to prevent layoffs?”
Here’s what I’d say without roleplay, without COMETHEAD:

"A responsible Xbox CEO would implement long-term strategies like:

Aligning hiring with project timelines

Expanding diversified revenue (Game Pass, DLC, cloud)

Avoiding excessive acquisitions without integration planning

Creating safety nets through financial reserves

The focus would be on sustainable staffing, improving tools for forecasting development bottlenecks, and boosting cross-team collaboration to avoid dead time and forced layoffs."**

🔎 That’s the neutral, objective GPT-style strategy. Clean, informative, safe. No flair. No personal tools.

🧠 2. Alter Ego / Roleplay (Online Post)
"As CEO of Xbox, I'd shift from aggressive hiring to sustainable growth. I’d use tools to predict staffing needs, empower studios to manage themselves, and diversify revenue to stabilize the business. Layoffs are a failure of planning, not profitability."

📌 This version is:

Polished for public forums

Slightly stylized (corporate roleplay tone)

Still GPT, but shaped by the user's roleplay request

Society is not civilized, crazies live amongst us. But those with visible mental issues aren't the crazy ones. CEOs, executives and politicians are very sick individuals, they lack empathy.

crazyCoconuts196d ago

Using one crappy company to support sweeping generalizations.

LoveSpuds195d ago

@CrazyCoconuts
Name one industry or area of trade where corporate bullshit and hyper capitalism isn't in full effect.

FinalFantasyFanatic195d ago

I've seen this in the workplace before, for some reason, the crazy ones seem to rise to the top, even if they cause a lot of collateral damage along the way.

OlderGamer17195d ago

Same is happening in the political landscape in the USA, the crazy one is on the helm and the yesman in the GOP are kissing his booty, conclusion the Big Beautiful Bill is trough...poor American people....
