It's crazy. This is, by far, my most anticipated game of the entire generation. Even just reading this headline caused my heart to start pumping faster. I am so glad I haven't seen anything of this game since the reveal trailer years ago.

Same I’m going in blind.

Death stranding is such a nightmare for me to beat tho.
It took me 40 hours too beat episode 5 because I wanted to 5 start everything and build all my roads.
Don’t get me wrong I had a blast doing it but damn I was shocked how far I was still in the story lol

anast345d ago

I had fun building roads too.

They should make an Xbox version ASAP. Played the first one in the ps4 pro and the loud fans were a nightmare.

I was very pleasantly surprised how well it looks in 1440p running at 60-70fps on my 5600x and 2080 Super at medium to high settings.

SOME PC's. I love how these articles love to assume every PC gamer has a 5080 under the hood.

Zerobalance36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

Poor Ponies. 🤣🥺 Sad guy who had to purchase this game twice. Good graphics but a dull, dull game.

Haven't played it though have you? So your opinion has no base.

Death Stranding 2 Has the Best PC Launch for a Single-player PlayStation-First Game

According to SteamDB, Death Stranding 2 had a peak concurrent user (CCU) count of 55,444 in the first 24 hours after it launched on Steam on March 19, with conservative estimates of sales at around 300,000 at the time of writing. This is a higher peak launch CCU than both Death Stranding and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut combined. Death Stranding 2 also has a higher all-time peak CCU than any other Sony single-player sequel released on PC, beating out major PlayStation sequels like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West, and Spider-Man 2.

And people think PS is going to stop porting to PC and go back to being first party 🤣🤣

hombreacabado67d ago

but that is literally the case sony said their first party titles on PC failed to meet expectations and they will cease to support releasing first party titles on PC.

If they stop, oh well. PC gamers lived a long time with out sony games, we will continue live after they stop putting them on PC. I have bought 90% of the games Playstion Studios has released on PC, I am planning to buy Death Stranding 2 after I finish RE9, but if they don't want my money, beyond that..I'm not gonna beg for their games. I have a PS5 that is just a bluray player for me, I have ZERO interest in playing games on it, and I imagine there are a lot of PC gamers who feel the same way.

Michiel198966d ago

and this my friends, is how rumors get passed of as fact.

Scissorman67d ago

that headline seems wrong to me. best PC launch for a PlayStation Studios game? ghost of tsushima opened at 78K concurrent players.

VersusDMC67d ago

The headline is good for their narrative.
The same numbers would be used to say it's the best so Sony should keep
porting to PC, or that it is bombing because it isn't day and date with PC.

Eonjay67d ago

"Best PC Launch for a Single-player PlayStation-First Game Sony single-player sequel" Thats a lot of qualifiers. Too the point I think the author created their own catagory for DS2. Also they then refeerence Death Startnding launch CCU...but fails to tell the audience that Death Starnding is not published by PlayStation on PC. It was done by 505 games.

NYk966d ago

DS2 on PC is PlayStation published though, so they are correcf

hduce66d ago

Did anyone from Sony actually confirm or deny the rumors about their stance on PC ports? I am still trying to find an actual quote.

NYk966d ago

They have not made any statement on it

So until then, its status quo - PC ports continue.

They also just released a PC game and a PC dualsense bundle about a week ago, so…

Eonjay66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

No. The statement is expect to come when they give their fiscal year end presentation. And given their prior statements regarding PC plans and results, a non statement or omission. will be interpreted as verification of the rumor. Also we know that their live service/multiplayer games (Hunters Gathering/Tokom) will be on PC so the the stement of support has to explicitly state single player otherwise it will also verify the rumor.

That’s a seriously impressive PC debut, especially for a sequel that leans heavily on atmosphere and unconventional gameplay. Hitting over 55K CCU in the first day shows not just hype, but real demand from PC players who may have skipped the console release. It also says a lot about how much trust people have in Hideo Kojima’s vision—his games tend to be niche, yet they keep breaking into the mainstream.

What stands out most is outperforming heavy hitters like God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Forbidden West, which are traditionally more accessible. It suggests the audience for Death Stranding has grown significantly since the first game, likely helped by word of mouth and the Director’s Cut refining the experience.

If this momentum holds, it could push Sony Interactive Entertainment to prioritize faster PC releases even more. Definitely a big win for both Kojima Productions and the PC community.
