Amid Universal Acclaim, Turn-Based Haters Are Trying to Review-Bomb Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been received very well, some haters are trying to drag it down by giving it 0's and 1's scores.

People really be hating for the sake of it. Yeesh.

RaidenBlack263d ago

Already got so many turn based franchises converted to real time. Even got Baldur's Gate III.

RaidenBlack262d ago

"Even got Baldur's Gate III."
*I meant to say, we even got another turn based high rated game in the form of Baldur's Gate III that became GOTY ... but even after all that we see these activities.
Should've elaborated.
I didn't mean Bladur's became real-time. That effort goes to the Dragon Age franchise and others.

I don't like turn based combat but I am. Willing to try it. Some people just hate for no reason. I mean if I don't like a game I can ignore it why do I need to spread hate

Armaggedon262d ago

People get salty when games they like are overshadowed by other games.

RaidenBlack262d ago (Edited 262d ago )

Pokemon was the main reason I got to experience turn based (before FF n all).
I didn't even realize it was turn based until a friend of mine pointed it out, that I've been enjoying turn based all along.
@Armaggedon
Yep, pretty much

There the same crowd who cry woke, this is their job. Always finding something to critisize.

TricksterArrow262d ago

I saw a review that gave the game zero because they thought Sciel (a hot babe in the game) was DEI, as she had a, what they described as, square face. lol

Killer2020UK262d ago

Nah, fuck em. No employment for pricks

-Foxtrot263d ago

Funny because these are probably the same people Square Enix try to please with new mainline FF games.

No Way262d ago

Honestly, I stopped playing the FF games when they went away from turn-based combat.. That was FF. They should have created a new series or spin offs that had the real time combat.

DustMan261d ago

The only game I adjusted to and really liked after the move from turn based was FF12, and even then it was fairly similar with cooldown and what not.

gold_drake263d ago

god, review bombers are some of the lowest scumbags of the internet

isarai263d ago

That's pathetic. I don't like turn-based games but I don't hate them. It just doesn't do anything for me. I can still acknowledge that this is. Looks like an amazing game. WTF is wrong with people? Lol

Best RPG of 2025

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "If there's one genre you can almost always rely on to put out at least a few solid titles each year it's the RPG genre. Whether it's CRPGs, WRPGs, JRPGs, ARPGs, or MMORPGs, there are a lot of subgenres with rich histories and confusing abbreviations, and each of them brings something worthwhile to the table. This year in particular was a bit of an interesting one since it had no brand new entries in the really long-running, genre-defining series like Final Fantasy or SoulsBorneRing to step in and steal the show. Instead, our shortlist consists mainly of much more unique titles within the genre, but they're certainly no less deserving for that."

2025 in Review: Winners and Losers

VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "Before we leave 2025 completely behind us and begin taking a closer look at the horrors that 2026 surely has in store, let's once again mull over the best and worst of the last year. As is more or less tradition by now, the winners side took ages to properly fill, while there was an abundance of choice for the losers, but to keep some semblance of balance I whittled both sides down to just five. Let's take a look, shall we?"

Good read.

“Phil Spencer made some rather curious statements following the layoffs, notably stating that ”our platform, hardware, and game roadmap have never looked stronger.” So the company is simultaneously the most successful it's ever been, while also firing people by the thousands. Its gaming division is supposedly stronger than ever, yet it's effectively gutted many of the studios that brought it success in the first place.”

This is how a textbook Makavelian society works, where the top dogs become more successful in terms of flair and pomp with soaring bank accounts, only to realize the foundation of the society is rotten and relatively close to collapse. According to former border patrol agent JJ Carell., in 2025 the US was the largest consumer of human in trafficking on earth, and that slavery in America was more popular last year than it ever was, even compared to back when slavery was actually legal in the 1800s. But activist today will blab about how happy they are. But activists today will blab about how happy and proud they are that slavery is technically illegal because they fundamentally fail to grasp how a Makavelian society functions.
