It’s not like a great indie comes out every month and it’s also difficult to tell when an indie is going to be received well.

This release has seen critical acclaim for both PS+ & GP. It good to see the little guy get the recognition like the big guy.

Let's see: Animal Well, Bugsnax, Kena, Sea of Stars, Sifu, Stray, and the list goes on. Sony has been treating top-tier Indies as headline acts for quite some time. Blue Prince is just continuing the trend.

I just like that someone thinks that Destruction AllStars, Harry Potter: Quiddich Champions, Meet Your Maker, Death Note: Killer Within have a 75+ Metascore.

Or that Deep Rock Galactic was a Day One release on PS+.

Great point. I do know people are putting Blue Prince above many games, Ven going as far as calling it a masterpiece, 10/10, GotY, but yes, Sony has been giving us great games for years.

In an age of Gamepass, this would go a long way to justifying Sony’s model. I am back and forth because as a consumer I’d LOVE a PSPass or whatever but I also know that Microsoft is phasing out consoles. Sony is still dedicated to great exclusives etc. So I’m split.

I honestly don't understand the hype about Blue Prince. Played it for a couple of hours, then deleted it. It's more like a card game/game of chance than a puzzle game. The only two puzzles I came across took a few minutes to figure out the first time, then it's the same thing again every time they crop up.

I have 10 days off and wanted to play Expedition 33 and now see this. What to do!!
Seriously though, it would be a HUGE win for Sony and for smaller games for a PS Plus game to win GOTY!
Seriously incredible.

Best Puzzle Game of 2025

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "When you think about it, the essence of every game is problem-solving in one way or another. For the puzzle genre, that's expressed through a series of brainteasers. A challenge is placed at your feet and you're pushed to understand it with limited contextual clues. From industry veterans to relative newbies, familiar franchises to brand-new IPs, 2025 saw a deluge of impressive puzzlers. Among our finalists are not merely well-designed templates based on familiar staples; a couple move the genre forward in interesting directions."

I had more fun watching paint dry than i did playing this game.

We all have different tastes.

I'm a fan of puzzle games in general. This one did not spark with me at all either.

Nacho_Z13d ago

I loved it, then suddenly I didn't. The puzzles got more and more obscure and inscrutable as it went along and it was eventually more annoying than fun.

I'd still recommend it though, I got about 40 quality hours out of it and 'finished' the game. Just need to pretend there aren't about 80 unsolved mysteries when you do so.

its great, but if ur first language aint English, u cant rly play it ha

developer doesnt want to translate it.
