Blue Prince harnesses the innate, burning curiosity one feels when seeing a closed door at the end of a hallway and crafts it into an unforgettable experience.

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "When you think about it, the essence of every game is problem-solving in one way or another. For the puzzle genre, that's expressed through a series of brainteasers. A challenge is placed at your feet and you're pushed to understand it with limited contextual clues. From industry veterans to relative newbies, familiar franchises to brand-new IPs, 2025 saw a deluge of impressive puzzlers. Among our finalists are not merely well-designed templates based on familiar staples; a couple move the genre forward in interesting directions."

Blue Prince and Death Stranding 2 are also up for multiple awards at the AIAS event.

Why Blue Prince, from Dogubomb, is Eurogamer's 2025 game of the year.
I loved it, then suddenly I didn't. The puzzles got more and more obscure and inscrutable as it went along and it was eventually more annoying than fun.
I'd still recommend it though, I got about 40 quality hours out of it and 'finished' the game. Just need to pretend there aren't about 80 unsolved mysteries when you do so.
i dunno
its great, but if ur first language aint English, u cant rly play it ha
developer doesnt want to translate it.
Fake review. Try it on Gamepass and you’ll quickly see why. The rooms quickly repeat themselves and the riddles are pretty dull. Like counting numbers on a dartboard, over and over again.
