I Went Mad and Killed Everyone in Atomfall - IGN

IGN : Atomfall gave me a cricket bat, so I decided to hit every head in Britain with it.

CrimsonWing69314d ago

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-violence in games, but I can’t help but find this headline hilarious while they go ape sh*t over games with titillating character designs and pull up this whole moral spiel about it.

I know, I know, who gives a sh*t? Just my knee jerk reaction to a headline after this outlets has gone on tirades over other forms of harmless content in games.

"I can’t help but find this headline hilarious while they go ape sh*t over games with titillating character designs and pull up this whole moral spiel about it."

The "everything is woke" and "DEI" hasn't been politicised in the UK as much as the US, they're trying to force it in but haven't made much ground yet. So all the US nonsense of freaking out over "wokness" probably wasn't even in their head when writing the title.

Funny thing I learned about DEI(A) in the US, the biggest recipient of DEI(A) was low income white women and those with qualifications but no financial mobility, JD Vance was a DEl admission at Yale under a program that gave veterans & low-income kids scholarships to schools like Yale.

EnricoPallazzo314d ago

Everything you just said was bullshit. There was no DEI when Vance was accepted into Yale. DEI is a relatively new concept, one that, unlike affirmative action, requires active discrimination against the white, male, and straight. And yeah, a lot of us have noticed that leftist white women have designated themselves as a "minority." Also, maybe when you can post something in the UK about, oh, I don't know, that migrants raping British girls is bad without getting arrested then maybe we in the US will give a shit what think.

MrDead314d ago (Edited 314d ago )

@ Enrico

"PolitiFact contacted the video’s creator, Thomas Burke, for comment. He named two specific DEI initiatives he said benefited him and Vance: programs to increase veteran enrollment and retention through recruiting and financial aid and veteran-specific affinity groups."

Today, Yale Law frames veteran enrollment as part of its DEI efforts"

Burke told PolitiFact that Vance served on the Yale Veterans Association, which Burke called "an affinity group that is considered a DEI group" and said it "was doing DEI work to increase veteran enrollment."

JD Vance’s former classmate explains how he benefited from the same DEI measures he’s attacking:

EnricoPallazzo314d ago

For the dipshits in the back: RETROACTIVELY CALLING SOMETHING THAT EXISTED BEFORE DEI DOES NOT MAKE IT DEI. Please explain, using your own words and not quoting the bullshit artists at Politifact, how Diversity Equity and Inclusion, a phrase with very specific meaning, that only appeared in the last, what, 5 years? applies to a scholarship for low income veterans 22 years ago? Are you saying that a straight white male would be considered "Diverse" in Yale? In 2003?

MrDead314d ago (Edited 314d ago )

@Racistenrico

"Please explain, using your own words and not quoting the bullshit artists at Politifact, how Diversity Equity and Inclusion"

Easy, you're massivily missinformed and brainwashed. DEI as you know it today started in the early 2000s but the 1960's saw some of it's biggest pushes and it's origins go back to the 1920's

EnricoPallazzo314d ago

@DipshitDead

Ahh, resorting to Wikipedia. 'K. Why not say that DEI started in 1619? 1492? 1800 BC?

MrDead314d ago (Edited 314d ago )

@Enrico

I love that direct links from wikipedia to direct sources still leaves you ignorant.

https://www.britannica.com/...

"Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs—meant to address historical and systemic disparities based on race, gender, age, ability, and sexual orientation in the workplace—became a controversial cornerstone for both the government and private sector in the 21st century.

The practice, once known as affirmative action, has its roots throughout U.S. history and pivotally in the mistreatment of a Black World War II veteran and how Pres. Harry S. Truman responded to it."

Some DEI accounts trace attempts at official diversity, equity, and inclusion to the administration of Truman, while others point to U.S. Pres. Lyndon B. Johnson and the enactment of civil rights legislation in the 1960s. But a closer examination of history reveals that the United States has wrestled with ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion since its founding."

Learn kid.

EnricoPallazzo314d ago

@Dead
No,no you are quite right, I apologize. It is in no way intellectually dishonest to insist that Yale providing a scholarship for veterans in 2003 to a straight white male is exactly the same as affirmatively hiring people to increase diversity of skin color and sexual orientation regardless of merit. Because it is a well-known fact that straight white men were a minority in American Ivy League universities in the early 2000s.

MrDead314d ago (Edited 314d ago )

Now you relise all your knowlage about DEI was based on ignorance and you still feel the need to spout more!

"It is in no way intellectually dishonest to insist that Yale providing a scholarship for veterans in 2003 to a straight white male is exactly the same as affirmatively hiring people to increase diversity of skin color and sexual orientation regardless of merit.
"Because it is a well-known fact that straight white men were a minority in American Ivy League universities in the early 2000s"

After every link posted you still think DEI was only about race, if you'd read the links you would see that comment is ridiculous.

Instead of raging why not educate yourself?

@ EnricoPallazzo

Aren't you the guy that saved the queen?

EnricoPallazzo313d ago

@Knushwood Butt
Yes. Yes I was, after delivering a world class performance of the National Anthem and umping a baseball game.

Knushwood Butt312d ago

@Enrico

lol

It must be decades since I last saw that, but I seem to remember a line, 'Hey, it's Enrico Pallazzo!', said by a fan watching the game, that made my buddy and I crack up laughing in the cinema when we saw it.

I'm really looking forward to this game, I have a Fallout itch that hasn't been scratched in a decade... also I lived in Cumbria so it'll be good to see what they've brought to the game.

Abear21314d ago

N4G is now NPR

I honestly thought the headline was a bit off too, like if this guy gets arrested for assault ever in his life this won’t age well.

Game looks crispy and gives those Fallout vibes for sure! I’m keeping an eye on this one even though the name Atomfall just screams derivative meh.

jznrpg314d ago

I don’t care about the ability to kill anyone. I’ve played a handful or more of games where you could kill anyone and sometimes even if you attacked them you ruined the quest line or even the entire game. Souls games you can kill npcs and you are screwed if you needed them. There have been others as well.

That being said I am interested in this game and I am going to pick it up. I just hope I don’t f up any quests attacking someone on accident. Hopefully they have manual saves in the game

dmonee314d ago

Why did this thread become so political? I didn’t even care about this game until I read this article. Now the game seems interesting to me and im going topay attention for when it releases
