Atari Arcade 2 Revealed

This looks like a great collection of Atari games that fans should like.

rlow1430d ago

Some nice choices. I never could get very far in Berzerk.

Garethvk430d ago

That one gets tough. The sequel was even harder.

rlow1430d ago

I didn’t even know they made a sequel but I didn’t pay attention back in the day because I wasn’t very good at the game.

Garethvk430d ago

It is called Frenzy and you could bounce shots off the walls amongst other new wrinkles.

rlow1430d ago

Well if that’s the case, then I wouldn’t have played it long back in the day. But as an adult I would love to give it a go. It might be a different experience for me.

Cacabunga430d ago

I had Atari 2600 with several games inside included i played so many of them no idea whst they are called but i remember Pitfall alone

Garethvk430d ago

Pitfall is an absolute and timeless classic. It was one of the best of that era.

Yui_Suzumiya429d ago

Pitfall was definitely revolutionary for it's time

PRIMORDUS429d ago

There is a fan made Berzerk with voice just like the arcade called, Berzerk: Voice Enhanced. Pretty amazing what can be done now, compared to back then on the 2600. Also check out Donkey Kong Remake, it's crazy to think this is coming out of a 2600 https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price Update

Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 a month. PC Game Pass will also drop from $16.49 to $13.99 a month. Prices may vary by region.

Beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won’t join Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. New Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday season (about a year later), while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will continue to be available.

can't wait to hear how this is spun negatively.

darthv722h ago

Its nice there is some kind of drop... but is that all they really value CoD to be, a lousy $7 a month?

I was hoping it would drop by $10.

1Victor1h ago

Can’t wait to hear how this will be spun extremely positive. 🤣
I wonder why knowing Microsoft thick head something must has happened in the background in the levels of Xbox one and Kinect 🤷🏿

LucasRuinedChildhood13m ago(Edited 1m ago)

Well, they're removing their biggest game from being Day 1 on the service so GamePass users can buy it instead. That's the intention.

They increased the price to $30, then removed COD and dropped it to still be above the old price.

It's an understandable compromise but the consumer Ultimately is getting less.

Think the calculation is that *most* COD users don't play that many games and aren't interested in GamePass. The GamePass users who do like COD would just buy it anyway. MS reportedly lost out a lot of money last year putting COD on GamePass.

Bathyj0m ago

Well Call of duty could just be the beginning. What other games can they trim from the service to get the price down? How long before it's just the Xbox core first party studio games and not the one to everquired?

Create an interesting scenario with Call of duty as well. Will people wait a year to play it? Does that split the fan base? Will it hurt to Call of duty more than a benefits Game pass? These are all legitimate questions which we will find the answers to in the coming years

And I don't consider my post negative spin just realistic observation.

New Xbox Boss the 🐐?

Vits4h ago

In my region, it’s still more expensive than it was before the last price hike, but it’s a far more viable price point.

Losing Call of Duty from the service, honestly, has zero effect on me, and given they chose to make it so, it’s probably not the big seller they originally thought. Overall, it’s really good news, but I still think they have work to do on the tier structure, having Premium and PC at the same price point with different features feels odd.

Lightning773h ago

Yep take COD out. Them waiting a year is interesting but it make sense. They don't want certain ppl waiting 4 to 6 months they want fomo and maximum sales. Wait a year while the new one releases.

Ok so far so good.

Sadly when i try to checkout, it wont let me select United States. their site thinks i'm in another zone for some weird reason.

edit... it was my office internet being the issue. i did it on my phone through cellular and it worked. Got me a white one.

Neonridr5d ago

it lets me order from Canada.. only charges me $20 for shipping too.

That being said. Spending $533 (CDN) on the white unit for it to primarily just sit and collect dust would be a little foolish.

It's an awesome idea though.

darthv724d ago

I almost went for the ultimate edition... as that truly is the best deal. the games by themselves are $90 (US), that alone is $900 in value for all 10 titles. then add in the $250 for the console and wired stick. Another $120 for a wireless stick, $60 for a wireless pad and then $35 for the memory card. $1365 (US) if all bought separately.

Neonridr5d ago

congrats on the White one, it is beautiful and tempting... LOL

darthv725d ago

I just had to... I already have an AES with a multi-cart. But this thing was just too good to pass up. Especially since the wireless controller works on regular AES and the game cart does as well. Plus it comes with a matching white memory card.

Neonridr5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

@darthv72 - I'm not a collector of games for these retro consoles (have the Analogue Super NT (SNES), Mega SG (Genesis) and 3D (N64). But I just use everdrives with each system as I only have a couple of SNES carts and only 2 N64 carts. A lot of these games are stupidly expensive so I'd rather just invest in a single everdrive and then I can just run every game. However the everdrive that works with the AES is $600! Crazy stuff.

darthv725d ago

^^...that is why i got one of those 160-1 carts off aliexpress. it works great. and yeah i use everdrives and ODE where available. i do like to buy PS4/5 games and Switch stuff though. I dont buy much in the way of physical XB anymore, I just use GPU to play what I like.

Neonridr4d ago

I buckled and picked up a white one off Amazon. I figure at least there I can cancel closer to release if I change my mind. I need to see about getting a second controller though...

darthv724d ago

right on... and yeah when i saw Amazon was offering them, I had to order a wireless pad and memory card for my existing AES. i used to have the Neo CD and i really liked the clicky thumbstick. Now if they make the kidney bean shaped control stick I will be all set.

Neonridr4d ago

the white one came with a memory card, so I figure one is enough for me.

Rebel_Scum5d ago

Had no idea SNK were still around tbh. What have they been working on for the last decade or two?

rgraf775d ago

Samurai showdown, a couple King of fighters. Fatal fury games have all been released

Huey_My_D_Long4d ago

Bought and owned by the Saudi Family now

Agent754d ago

SNK went bust in 2001 and has changed hands a number of times, so it's no longer the original SNK.

PRIMORDUS4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

This brings back memories. I remember when I first saw Neo Geo back in 1991, it was $649.99 at launch, which would equal $1,575 today. I was thinking holy shit who is going to buy that when SNES was $200 and Genesis was $189. Well I was wrong, 😂 it sold for 14 yrs. My ringtone is the Neo Geo jingle https://www.youtube.com/wat... 😁

derek4d ago

Remember just staring at it through the shop window and wishing I could buy it, lol. The games looked amazing for that time.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH4d ago

Definitely picking up that Ultimate Edition.

jznrpg4d ago

I couldn’t check out last night with PayPal for some reason. I’ll try again later

darthv724d ago

I had a similar issue. First it wasnt the right region, then i was able to correct that and then paypal worked.
