Bethesda Softworks: "Join Marty, Hugo and the team at id Software as we journey into our first gameplay deep dive for DOOM: The Dark Ages!
Developed by id Software, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.
Coming May 15, 2025. Pre-order on Xbox Series X|S, PC or PlayStation 5."

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Before getting into the nominees, there’s one interesting omission worth noting: Black Ops 7. Regardless of its popularity, that sends a clear signal as to what these nominees – ranging from AAA to indie – bring to the table. And given the impressive vote share between them (none eclipsing 35%), it's safe to say shooter fans got their fill last year. Without further ado, here are the nominees…"

In which long-time video game critic Paul Semel recounts his favorite games of the year.

"Doom: The Dark Ages is a perfect blend of familiar and fresh - a gory, gorgeous shooter with plenty of content to enjoy."

I love Doom and think this one looks good but does anyone think this one looks a lot slower compared to Doom 2016 and Eternal?
For me Doom was never about protecting myself or deflecting hits with a shield so I'm quite confused at the choice here especially with a lot more focus on melee weapons. Even the glory kills seemed non-existent and a step back from the previous ones.
This is more Gothic Quake I than Doom1 or doom'16
...
Can't they just reboot Quake with this same art style but abit grittier & with a new Gothic storyline ~all while being run on idtech 8
So the game costs 80 bucks.
