Halo 1 and 3 still have great replay values and the online on Halo 3 is superb. For me personally, I like the many weapons, the ability to get very tactical and also the great use of vehicles in the online.

JhawkFootball066336d ago

The people who buy it make the game where it is today

I_LOVE_MYSELF6336d ago

I actually agree... Halo is an amazing franchise and the replay value is amazing... I couldnt complain if someone was to say it was the best game this gen... heck of all time for that matter...

IQUITN4G6336d ago (Edited 6336d ago )

I could agree with that

Although Halo3 was and still is a disappointment in terms of what i was expecting from the final chapter, i regularly play the campaign and it a better game mehanically than the first utterly brilliant game

And the more you play of it, the more immersed you become in this initially underwhelming campaign. It doesn't outdo the first game regards to how mysterious and epic it feels but favorite levels never tire if you turn scoring on and attempt a no deaths game

Multiplay is great of course but i'm more about the campaign and the endless fun you can have in it

ODST sounds intense and i hope Bungie give fans what a lot have been wanting now for a while - that E3 night time mombassa

So many FPS claim a great deal many things but so many only allow for a playthrough at most before you decide it's time to move onto either the multiplayer or a new game.Graphics are often also the biggest selling points for FPS but they are mostly all forgotten games unlike Halo

Halo1 remains my most fave of this series but closer inspection reveals less finess from combat compared to H3(as is to be be expected really)but cerainly H1 has the most truly believable setting i have ever encountered in a FPS and it does still play quite unlike any other fps - as indeed H3 does as well - people don't obviously understand why but this is of course one of the reasons it is loved

So long as games focus primarily on hollywood thrills and graphical superiority in FPS, there will always be games less advanced in the more crucial areas - not to say that any of the Halo games were bad looking of course

Certainly a couple of things i would change about H3, but it's a class above what just about all other fps games manage

Zelda was once the only franchise i would bang on to people about how great games could be but Halo's are just as equally satisfying and great

An eventual return of the king will be a glorious day when we finally see another chaptor of the Chief

That's Microsoft's gaming division for you...kill off developers making new ip while trying to capitalize off some long lost glory that has no hope of ever being what it once was thanks to recent decision making favoring unrealistic profit goals and greed. What a joke.

Reaper22_209d ago

So much bitterness. Why be upset over something like this. Just don't buy it and stick with what you prefer.

Tacoboto209d ago

Complaining about Microsoft is the only thing people comment here for anymore.

This website is practically dead without it

Mmmkay209d ago

I remember when you guys constantly complained about Sony remaking and remastering games. Guess it is cool now. As usual.

thesoftware730209d ago

Give it rest medman..., take a deep breath and try to not sound so invested in something no one is forcing you to read, buy, or play.

"Console war"is over, Sony won, be happy.

medman204d ago (Edited 204d ago )

@thesoftware730
I'm invested in people losing their jobs and their livelihoods while Microsoft execs tout record profits for their gaming division. Not sure why you wouldn't be invested. Could be you one day. Good luck.

Travesty209d ago

So what’s their solution to having multiplayer? Wait until Halo 7?
That was one of the most memorable parts of Halo..

monkey602209d ago

I'm not sure spending the heavy investment in time to recreate the multiplayer here is the answer either though.
Remaking the campaigns is a great idea to bring the new players up to speed. But if the multiplayer is included in each it'll just fracture the player base of each release.
I think it might be better to turn these campaigns out quicker and have 1 multiplayer game to keep everyone in one place

Travesty209d ago

Maybe having an Halo Online and just release the Combat Evolve maps. And when Halo 2 releases have those maps release. I don’t know but I would like to play a newer version of Halo multiplayer. I know times have changed, and Fortnite is all younger kids really play. But back then it was Halo and you connecting 6 Xbox’s together lol.

jjb1981209d ago

I agree. I think that'll segment the playerbase and once 7 comes out, players might realize it sucks and go back to the older games. Especially if 7 is live-servixe, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot on the one good leg they have to stand on.

crazyCoconuts209d ago

Kinda surprised they didn't just port MCC.
Maybe more $ to by made with separate remasters

Inverno209d ago

Wouldn't have that problem if it were MCC being released. Gotta wait for 7 to be disappointed with MP all over again cause if they half baked Infinite what makes people think they won't half bake the next game? MP works in past HALO games not cause of nostalgia but because it's MP that isn't concerned with the endless service approach.

JEECE209d ago

There is so much cognitive dissonance over Infinite. People say they didn't like it because it was a live service. Yet if you look at what the criticisms of it were at the time it came out and when the playerbase started falling off, the primary issue people had was a lack of updates. In other words, it wasn't enough of a live service.

Which is really an encapsulation of the problem with multiplayer today. So many people think that they want to go back to the "good old days" of mid-2000s multiplayer (The first few Halos, Socom, the first few Battlefields, CS 1.6, etc), but in reality if a multiplayer game like that came out today, people would whine about the lack of content within a month of launch and go back to a live service with a grindy progression system.

isarai209d ago

Why not just port the MCC? 🤔 That was the easiest layup ever and you completely missed it

franwex209d ago

30% profit margins! People will pay $70+ for remakes!

Software_Lover209d ago

I thought the same thing, then I realized that they wouldn't include the remakes in that edition. We may get a different version of Halo MCC in the future with all of the remakes included. I just want them to include Halo 5 at some point for PC.

TheColbertinator209d ago

Can they remake Reach too with the multiplayer?

Knightofelemia209d ago

I wonder if Microsoft will port Reach over to Playstation I quite enjoyed that game. I played Halo 3 and it was not bad I have Halo 2 on the OG Xbox I just need some cables to hook up to my tv to play it.

I expect this to be announced pretty soon. Can't wait, this game was awesome. I wonder how of a remake it'll be though, hopefully not a remaster because we already have that lol.

S2Killinit225d ago

It needs to be a complete redo of graphics or else its not my cup of tea.

hennessey86225d ago

it will be running on unreal engine 5, so it will look good. The question is will it run as good as it looks

GenoPurpel225d ago

I think they teased it a few months back when they announced Halo studios. It does look quite incredible graphically but as Hennessy says above, how it runs is gonna be a different story given UE5 track record.

darthv72225d ago

it would probably be like the gears of war reloaded. Which was a remake of the remaster of the original.

...this gen is getting confusing with so many re-whatevers.

1Victor225d ago

@S2K: “ It needs to be a complete redo of graphics or else it’s not my cup of tea.”
I completely agree with you and would add a VR mode as well🥺

oh yeh, theres like a showcase soon, maybe they'll announce it there.

or at the game awards

but ue5 only looks pretty. the games run ..
abit weird.

Notellin225d ago

It's being shown at the Halo World Championships which they had already announced a few weeks ago.

RaidenBlack226d ago (Edited 226d ago )

Better reboot than another re-touch (remake after an already remaster) .... but 343/Halo is incompetent now, so .... guess this is best they can do with help of Coalition

pwnmaster3000226d ago

So much memories with halo.
The original Xbox was my first console (actually 64 but barely played) and the first game was halo. Me and my brother use to play coop almost everyday.
We eventually traded in for a PS2 because of kingdom hearts lol

maximusprime_225d ago

I played the first 2 Halo games. That's Bungie's Halo.. I do not know whether 343's Halo is as good as Bungie's.

Either ways Halo is one of Microsoft's big franchises. So many rumours so it's becoming more likely it'll come to PS5

darthv72225d ago

Halo 3 is Bungie's game... so is Reach and ODST. 4, 5 & 6 (Infinite) are 343's. They aren't bad... just different. The original trilogy story ended and should have finished there. But MS wanted to 'Star Wars' this franchise and came up with new stories that sort of just sit there.

TheColbertinator225d ago

You haven't missed out much since Bungie left.
