When suits, meaning people who have never played games and only care about hedge fund returns, take over, the focus shifts entirely to spreadsheets and profits. They don’t care about making great games or quality products. Their goal is to create games where they can charge as much as possible through microtransactions. That’s why we’re in the situation we’re in today—companies like PlayStation remastering games that are less than 10 years old. This is also a side effect of the lack of competition. Without pressure from competitors, companies like Sony can get away with almost anything. If Xbox were selling at the same level, there’s no way Sony could charge $700 for a PlayStation 5 Pro without including a disc drive or a stand. But with no real competition, they know they can push the limits.

Instead of exploring their hundreds of legendary IPs, they keep remastering recent games, while fans beg for titles like Bloodborne on PC or PlayStation 5. But they won’t do it unless they can charge full price. Gaming as we once knew it—a hobby driven by creativity and passion—is disappearing. Now, it’s all about money and greed, and it’s only going to get worse. With gaming generating more revenue than any other entertainment industry, it was inevitable that people who care nothing about the games themselves, only the profits, would get involved. These are the people buying up companies, and for them, the bottom line is all that matters

Wow! Impressive upgrade from the already beautiful original.

I put a ton of hours into this game, and put up with the insanely long load time on PS4 PRO. The SSD on PS5 is upgrade enough. While I will not be paying for this game twice, it is a classic.

The second Digital Foundry dropped the video everyone comes and constantly tries to pat themselves on the back damage controlling that GG made huge waste of time and resources on the remaster regardless of the quality of the remaster.
They didn't know that Nixxes did almost all the remaster work, you know the studio that Sony acquired specifically to handling remastering efforts and PC ports of their games.
And they certainly not slacking off by just using the PC settings on PS5 and calling it a remaster.
Like John said HZD remastered are much closer to the level of Bluepoint's Demon Souls remastering efforts and a far cry from your average lazy "Definitive Edition" remasters we're so used to see last gen and this gen.

I got ZD for free somehow on psn ( i forgot how or why) and got FW because buying the FW ps5 bundle was the only way I could get a ps5 back when there were shortages . I wonder how many of those sold were under such circumstances , 38 million is still alot so i'm not trying to discredit its sales but it makes me wonder . I personally put 30 hours or so in ZD and have never touched FW

I love both games so much. I would love a Killzone reboot before Part 3 though

Horizon Zero Dawn is a very good game. Horizon Forbidden West is good for them, expanding on environments and puzzles, and combat being more souls-like like just wish they kept the puzzles from Frozen Wilds DLC for Forbidden West. Overall, one of my favorite PlayStation games

I do hope this will motivate PC gamers to continue their complaints so that Ubi/EA/R* required logins are also removed. Also incentives are nice, like how it was back during the PS360 era.
