"Being handed a classic and beloved game that many see as the pinnacle of its genre is already a daunting task, but when that game also happens to be part of a franchise that has laid mostly dormant for over a decade and even then was only through maligned remasters given some life, it puts the challenge even further. Combine this with a shaky track record at Bloober Team and fan perception is going to be at its most critical and with a game like Silent Hill 2 being the one given the remake treatment, it is going to be impossible to please everyone. So, with fans at their most critical despite horror remakes being the recent trend and Silent Hill 2 being seen as the pinnacle of psychological horror, has this team managed to find success and at least please most with Silent Hill 2 Remake?"

Konami has announced Silent Hill 2 remake has surpassed five million players worldwide as of January 31, 2026. The figure includes the number of physical and digital units sold, as well as the number of players in subscription services.
A new analysis finds Silent Hill 2 Remake runs more consistently on Xbox Series X than on PS5, despite higher resolution on Sony hardware.
Well, the Xbox series X is not a bad machine at all. Its everything surrounding it from the support to the marketing that is garbage. Its too bad, because sony has shown themselves to be quite anticonsumer when they dont have real competition. Unfortunately Microsoft shits on their own balls every 5 minutes. Nintendo plays their own game so is not real competition. Maybe the steam machines will keep Sony on their toes, but I doubt it. Again, thats a different target audience.

Silent Hill 2 Remake debuts on Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Play Anywhere support and a limited time discount, offering a modern take on the acclaimed psychological horror classic.
