Yep that's all anyone cares about graphics it seems nowadays..

Redgrave600d ago

In most cases I would agree with you, but not with this one. RDR1 has been in dire need of a visual overhaul since its original release.

Cacabunga600d ago

By consoles it’s PS4 and switch which is just a ps3..

RaidenBlack600d ago

Couldn't Rockstar/2K arrange a internal secondary team that was capable of learning RAGE tools and upgrade RDR1 to RDR2's version? They are that stingy?
14 years?! GTA IV could benefit from similar approach as well, which is mostly forgotten these days but one of my favorite game.
Their stinginess came to light when they chose mobile porting studio Grove Street games to remaster 3 massive GTA games for mainstream gaming platforms.

just_looken600d ago

This game was made for 2005 hardware i expect it to run 120fps on my pc with graphics that take advantage of hardware few years old.

It better not ask for my windows xp rig in order to play it.

just_looken600d ago

Edit:

The game is now listed for $50 USD with there horrific launcher forced onto you

https://store.steampowered....

Looks more like a different view for the background than having more grass and that still doesn't look like it outshine Ps4 when in both shots thr the same texture quality and same shadows and same lighting... Gaming media needs to stop with those clickbait titles

Profchaos600d ago

The screenshots in the article are at different angles the background objects don't match at all.
End of the day the assets used are still from the 360 version just upscaled

Amplitude600d ago (Edited 600d ago )

Not only that, but that one single image (which has been online for a few days now) is the article's only source. It's one sentence ChatGPT'd up to multiple paragraphs. Twistedvoxel and Tech4Gamers are the worst garbage this site constantly upvotes - didnt even have to look to know it was one of them

Good-Smurf600d ago

After what seemed like 15 years, it be better be lol.
Doesn't take much nowadays to outshine 7th gen versions that designed to run on consoles with at best 512 MB of RAM.
They also have to price this right, or it would get review bombed on Steam, I reckon if they asked anything more than $20, they'll get roasted alive online.

Once the modding community has this game we will see great improvements

More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.

How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

What if Netflix becomes ‘the Netflix of gaming?!’

Alek83139d ago

I downloaded it because I already have a Netflix sub.
I am not going to buy it for $40 or whatever it costs on Google Play.

I tried it out and will be sticking to the PC version, but it's not bad.

Having said that, this is the issues I see vs the PC version:
1. Greatly reduced texture resolution.
2. Massive downgrade ALL lighting quality (this includes water, shadows, etc).
3. Stutter and heat. Prolonged play leads to both.
On the plus side, we have:
4. This thing is like 6GB vs the 12 on Steam.

Great way to try the game, but not the best way to play it.

Perhaps Netflix will make a RDR series now that ST is done with.

Lionsguard140d ago

A Netflix version of RDR?... Oh boy... I can't wait... /s

TheColbertinator139d ago

They should build a production that includes members behind the True Grit remake and Hell on Wheels from AMC. Both were perfect for wild west vibes.

but i doubt people ACTUALLY played it on smartphone vs tried it out.

Another free update...good to know but I don't own a series X

Petebloodyonion173d ago

I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

Hypertension140172d ago (Edited 172d ago )

Yea I think thats what it is. I also own the game but not the expansion, and im unable to download the update.
